Choosing dentistry as a profession because of the rewards of being a caregiver and the artistic and technical aspects of smile design, Dr. Petterson completed her undergraduate studies at the State University of New York in Binghampton and received a B.S. in Biology in 1977. During her years in SUNY, she worked as a chairside dental assistant.
Dr. Petterson relocated to Atlanta to attend Emory University School of Dentistry, completing her Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree in 1983. She has great memories from dental school as she and her Dad, a maker of fine jewelry in Manhattan, compared technical notes on a wax technique that is used in both making jewelry and dental crowns. Mom was the creative one in the family, with a love for painting in oils and watercolors, and inspiring Dr. Petterson's interest in dental esthetics.
Passionate about advancing her skills and clinical practice through technology and education, Dr. Petterson continually attends professional education in all phases of general dentistry. Areas of focus include CAD/CAM restorative technology, cosmetic dentistry and cone beam diagnostic imaging.
Our Dental Care Center surgical dentists hold licensure in the State of Georgia to provide IV Dental Sedation Services in our practice. Using this approach, patients are sedated with an anti-anxiety medication that places the body in a deep state of relaxation.
Unlike general anesthesia, patients that are under IV sedation are able to breathe on their own. Depending on the level of sedation, most patients are able to respond to verbal instruction. IV dental sedation typically creates an amnesic affect; most patients do not remember the details of treatment.

The staff at Dental Care are very professional and friendly. I would continue patronizing them but they don't accept Clover Health Ins.

Upon making me an appointment with this dentist office after speaking with them on the phone about the type of insurance I have which is the same insurance I had when I was there last they said they except my insurance still, but when I arrived for my appointment they said they don't except it. My appointment was early morning and I live a ways out, Bab business and would give a 0 if it was an option

On 3rd day of wisdom tooth extraction; Had all 4 taken out! Recovery is going great! No pain at all and very minimal swelling so far. Ali Khan and his team did a great job of making me feel comfortable and the procedure was very quick. They provided a packet of useful information so I can take care of myself while I'm recovering. Sorry, I was a sobbing mess after I woke up from the anesthesia, lol!

Well I had a 9:30 am appointment checked in ten minutes early filled our all the paperwork and sat! Over and hour with no idea when I would be called back. Because it was an extraction I had to have a driver. Who could not leave. When I asked how much longer? They said no idea.. I asked 10, 20, 30 minutes? We don't know. Okay how long in the back 45 minutes to and hour. So approximately 3 hours my wife had to miss work. Guess our time is not worth as much as theirs! If the didn't over book this would not have happened. I would not recommend going here unless you have all day to wait!!

They used to be great when Dr. Petterson was there and Susan up front. This time they made me wait for almost a month with two abscessed teeth. Finally when I got the appointment they were not prepare to pull them and wanted me to come back the next morning with $700. Would not take my prepay, the reason I used them.. Then I found Aspen dental, They took care of me, did a great job and because of my insurance and prepay it only cost $65 Bye Felicia, hello Aspen Dental.

Referred here for my son's wisdom teeth removal. Appt was for 9am but he wasn't called back until 0950. Dr Kahn is flat out rude.

Dr.Mixon is phenomenal!! He takes his time and makes sure I don't have any concerns or problems before getting out his chair! If your looking for great professional service I strongly recommend him!! Or any or the doctors for that matter!! And when he is with another patient and I'm waiting Ms. Evett and Ms. Linda are equally awesome!! Clean environment! and Professional!!

They go above and beyond to work you in especially if you're in pain. I had an issue with my insurance ending and they made sure I got my procedure done before it ended. They are so professional and kind.

Great, techs, dentist & staff...and to be honest is anyone looking forward to any dental appointment. LOL. In all seriousness, been coming here first years now & my 1st return routine visit from the whole 2020 COVID shutdown. And still a great place for dental care as the name implies. :)

Their post op is quite terrible, I have been trying to get ahold of doctor khan for 2 days now and almost 15 calls later still haven't been able to talk to him, and so if I call the front desk they say that it is not their problem. This office is not organized at all.

Never again. I would rate them ZERO honestly. I was referred here for my wisdom teeth extractions from my main dentist. The surgery was fine (although the doctor isn't very pleasant). He's (Dr. Khan) one of those doctors that just get you in & out. But when it came to my post op appointment & my paperwork needed for work, is where my issue was. They treat you like you're just an account instead of a human being. I had my surgery 12/10/20. I am still having pain and my bottom left side of my lip down to my chin is still numb. My feelings regarding my pain were very much so invalidated. My post op appointment was set 12/16/20 at 11a. I waited an hour to be seen. Just for them to sit me in a room & tell me whatever they wanted to tell me. They only gave me 4 days off for healing. I am a customer service representative & I talk on the phone for 10 hrs a day. They would not give me anymore days & clearly my mouth is not completely healed for me to be to work already. Customer service is horrible. They are extremely unorganized. Dr. Khan was no help. Front desk ladies seem like they hate their jobs. No empathy at all. I would not recommend anyone come to this office at all. Lastly, I repeatedly explained to them that it's extremely hard for me to open my mouth because it's crucial pain. One of the assistants tried to force my mouth open with tears down my face. Just don't go here.

Did your dentist refer them to you, or did you find them as an in network care provider? Regardless, consider your options. My biggest point of contention is with their post operative care. I took my fiance to her wisdom tooth extraction through a different provider and can attest to the level of professionalism and detailed service. After the surgery was finished we were placed in a room where a nurse gave us detailed information about what needed to be done in the following days. We even scheduled a follow up appointment. It was an amazing experience. In comparison, this office brings you in and rushes you to the table. The surgeon barely speaks to you (Dr. Khan), gives you no reassurances and once you're done, you're done. They handed me packet of papers and wheeled me out. No ice pack, no discussion, or advisement. Look, I'm competent and I can figure out what I should do, and the precautions I can take. This is the age of the internet after all, but if you're going to a provider then these services should be provided. I made a mistake in coming to this office for my dental work, and I hope by reading this you won't do the same. Look around!

Dr. Mixon and his staff are by far the best that I've ever experienced. They are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend them. I've been a patient for years and drive 30 minutes ti get there. It's truly worth the drive.

I tried over and over to contact the office, but always got a recording that they would contact me, but I never heard from them. Then I realized they had tried several times. After checking my phone I realized my ringer was off. I finally got in touch with them and they were as nice as they have always been before. So sorry I posted a bad review.

My experience at this place was terrible. The young lady that was at the front desk was not very nice and she rushed me a bit. Then there was in issue with the insurance that I had which after the fact, was not an issue but it was just her lack of cooperation that really led me to just give my incomplete paperwork back and just walk out. It's such a shame how a business like this shows a lack of care toward patrons during this difficult pandemic. I felt like I was not welcomed their. It really hurt me so be careful if you decide to go. I previously had some work done on my teeth here and I must say that the service was okay but was not balanced out because of the lack of good customer care and service. The Dentist was also kind of meh. If you want to great customer service, care, and a friendly environment, go to Advanced Dental Arts in Macon! They have been truly amazing
