Our staff consists of team members with specialized training and multiple certifications, and each one of our team members has years of experience in treating patients with the highest level of care.
Dr. Smith attended Creighton University in Omaha where he received a bachelors degree in Biology. He then attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry where he received his DDS degree.
Because Dr. Mike believes in giving back and providing direction for new dentists, he teaches one day a week at the Creighton University Dental School. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife and three kids. He enjoys early morning work outs, the outdoors, and is an avid Husker fan.
Dr. Nichol Smith was raised in Sioux Falls, SD. After graduating from Washington High School (valedictorian), she attended the University of South Dakota and received her bachelors degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry (cum laude). Dr. Smith completed her DDS degree at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry where she met Dr. Mike.
Drs. Michael and Nichol Smith joined the United States Air Force determined to give back to their country. In 1999 the dynamic dental duo moved to Sioux Falls and opened Dental Care Associates. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with their three children, family, and friends.
As a caring and compassionate person you can guarantee Dr. Kuipers will make you and your familys dental care a priority. She takes pride in getting to know her patients and their families while giving them the quality care she extends to her own family.
Dr. Chelsea Kuipers was born and raised in Sioux Falls where she graduated from Lincoln High School and Augustana University with degrees in Biology and Spanish. In 2010, Dr. Kuipers completed her DDS degree at the Creighton University Dental School and joined Dental Care Associates.
Dr. Lauren Booth-Roby is the newest dentist to join the practice. She is originally from Omaha, Nebraska and received her Biology and Business degree from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix (Magnum cum Laude). She then returned to Omaha where she received her DDS from Creighton University School of Dentistry. While at Creighton, Dr. Booth-Roby held multiple positions, including Vice President, of the District 7 ASDA (American Student Dental Association).
As a team, we are especially interested in making all of our patients feel right at home. We put your needs first to achieve efficient and comprehensive treatment in a supportive and nurturing environment. We promise to speak openly with you about possible treatments, as well as any risks and associated costs of treatment, and how treatment can address your individual needs as a patient.
Our goal is to alleviate the anxiety that can be associated with dental care. We understand some patients may feel nervous about their dental visit, so through building a foundation of trust we can provide a relaxing and positive experience.

I have been attending Dental Care Associates for years! Usually see Christy and Dr. Kuipers, but have seen others on occasion. Everyone there has been very caring and a delight to be tended by! I recommend to everyone!

Dental Care Associates are awesome, so kind & helpful. They are very supportive, they talk you through what they are doing. I have always been petrified of dentists & I can say I actually relax now with them. On top of all of that they do fantastic dental work. My hygienist is the best. I highly recommend Dental Care Associates.

Just had a crown put in yesterday and it was one of the easiest procedures I've ever had done. Dr. Kuipers and her team were the ultimate in caring professionals from start to finish. They explained the entire procedure, what to expect, how long it would take, and told me I could take a break when needed. I didn't need to, it was quick and so easy. Very comfortable too, didn't feel a thing. I never get nervous going to the dentist. The whole team is always so professional, kind, and helpful.

Staff is amazing. Didn't wait long in the waiting area before my appointment. They are thorough and professional in how they diagnose and treat patients. No "shaming" for condition of your teeth.My experience couldn't have been better. Dr. Kuipers and her team were awesome.

Almost no wait time. Staff was personable, friendly and knowledgeable. I loved the way they took the time to answer all of my questions and explain the procedure in full. Somehow they were able to make going to the dentist enjoyable-something I always thought was impossible. Dr. Roby is amazing and has earned not only my business but my family's dental care as well. I would highly recommend Dental Care Associates.
