She then moved to Boston where she received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree, Cum Laude, from Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. During her time at Boston University, Dr. Simpson was actively involved with the school chapter of the American Student Dental Association serving as a co-chair on its committee. She was also the recipient of several awards and honors throughout her professional training. After graduating, Dr. Simpson moved to Dallas where she worked in private practice for four years before returning to Boston with her husband.
