At Dental Associates, Inc., Dr. Skaff and Dr. Paterno combine over 40 years of experience with state-of-the-art equipment to provide complete family dental care in Charleston, WV. Our team of dedicated hygienists and office staff stresses prevention so extensive needs may not arise. Our scope of dental treatments for children and adults range from routine care to advanced cosmetic techniques and implantology.
Dr. Skaff graduated from West Virginia State College in 1965 and continued his education at West Virginia University, earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1969. Upon completion of his degree, Dr. Skaff proudly served in the United States Army before settling into practice in his hometown of Charleston.
Dr. Skaff is an active member of his community, church and several local and national professional dental organizations. he continues to incorporate state-of-the-art techniques and equipment with a commitment to excellence for every patient.
Dr. Paterno completed her undergraduate degree from West Virginia University in 2001, followed by her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2006. Upon completion of her doctorate degree, Dr. Paterno returned to the Charleston area to begin practicing with her uncle, Dr. Skaff.
Dr. Paterno continues the tradition in her office by devoting her time to the Kanawha Dental Health Council while also helping educate dental assisting students at Carver Career and Technical Education Center. She believes continuing education is essential in treating patients with the best care possible.

I went to Dr Paterno for the first time, had to have a tooth extracted. The staff were very friendly and Dr Paterno very caring, explaining everything to me what the procedure would be step by step. The receptionist at front desk is amazing. She represents the office so we'll, friendly and lets a person know you are welcome.

My family has been highly satisfied with the doctors, associated staff, and especially to receptionist/secretary/office manager!! This is a warm, friendly and caring group. We hope to stay customers for a long time. We prefer small healthcare provider groups for their personal approach as well as their professionalism. Great care, great staff, and proper billing!
