Dr. Steven Blechman was born in the Bronx and raised in Rockland County, New York. A graduate of State University of New York at Binghamton, he earned his DMD from the University of Pennsylvania in 1985. After graduation, he completed a General Practice Residency program at the Westchester County Medical Center in Valhalla, New York.
Dr. Blechman opened his first practice in Nanuet. It was there that he developed a following of patients, who are still loyal to him today. In 2008, Dr. Blechman joined Dental Arts of Rockland where he serves as a principal owner. Dr. Blechman is proud to welcome patients to a practice where real caring and compassion combine with education and experience to provide the best in dental care. His philosophy of service to the patient along with the support of a handpicked, knowledgeable team creates excellence in both patient care and clinical results.
Dr. Blechman has advanced training in Cosmetic Dentistry from New York Universitys Aesthetic Continuum and from the Las Vegas Institute of Dentistry. He is dedicated to a lifetime of continuing education, focusing on cosmetic dentistry and periodontal care. As a mentor to several of his colleagues, Dr. Blechman has helped them excel and reach their clinical goals.
Outside of the office, Dr. Blechman has served on the Board of Directors at the JCC-Y of Rockland where he is actively involved with local fundraising events and contributes time and expertise to programs that sponsor young athletes. He is a tennis enthusiast who also enjoys golfing, biking, hiking, and a brisk walk/jog around Rockland Lake.
Dr. Jonathan Gellis earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery at New York University College of Dentistry. Prior to this, he completed his undergraduate degree from Pennsylvania State University and obtained a Masters in Biomedical Sciences from Rutgers University. Dr. Gellis trained an additional year during his residency at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in East Orange, NJ. He is a member of the New York State Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and American Academy of Facial Esthetics.
Originally from Rockland County, he now resides in Northern Bergen County with his wife, young daughter, and dog. Outside of the office, he enjoys playing ice hockey, trying new restaurants, and traveling with his family. His favorite travel adventure has been his honeymoon in South Africa. At a young age, while playing hockey with his friends, Dr. Gellis took a stick to the mouth and fractured his front teeth. Fixing his smile required the work of a great cosmetic dentist, serving as the catalyst for his desire to focus on cosmetic and restorative dentistry to give his patients the confidence to smile.
Dr. Gellis mission is to create a memorable experience for his patients, instilling well-being and providing quality, genuine care and comfort. Dr. Gellis prides himself on his sense of integrity and his strong set of personal values. He carries these virtues with him in everything he pursues, paying close attention to the details of the care he delivers while staying equally attentive to the overall needs of his patients. Dr. Gellis strives to provide the highest standard of personalized and cosmetic dental care and is happiest when he is changing the lives of his patients for the better.
Dr. Julie James is a general dentist who looks forward to working with her patients to help provide preventative care education and practice healthy oral hygiene. Dr. James grew up in Rockland County NY and went to dental school at New York University. After dental school she completed a residency at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. She is also an active member of the New York State Dental Society, American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. After initially wanting to pursue a career in art, she found that cosmetic dentistry fulfills her passion for both art and making people smile.

Dental Arts of Rockland is the best at what they do. From the minute you walk in the door, you are treated kindly and respectfully. All of the doctors and staff are extremely caring and patient. Like most people, I never enjoyed the dentist, but Dental Arts of Rockland helped eliminate those memories and fears. I am truly grateful I found them.

I could not recommend dental arts or rockland more. My entire experience amazing. The entire staff was so kind and thoughtful; they all worked to ensure I was comfortable and relaxed. During every visit, they offered me so many amenities that really put me at ease the entire time. Dr. James was incredible. She was thoughtful, professional and very skilled at what she does. She really took time to explain everything I had going on, answer my questions, and ease my concerns. Not only was she able to fix the issues with my teeth, she was able to fix the mistakes of my previous dentist, all without any pain or discomfort. I have never had any issues with her dental work, and my teeth have never felt better or been healthier. Dr. James is the best and I will no longer go to any other dentist!

I have been going to Dental arts of Rockland for over 15 yrs, best dental office I have ever been too. I tell everyone about it when they talk about or ask about dentists . My entire family goes there as well . Maryanne is an excellent hygienist and Colleen manages the office superbly . Megan and the entire staff are professional and friendly . Highly recommend !

very bad professionally. I went there 2 yrs ago, its so traumatic and i wanted to report the Dental assistant to state, but i thought i canot stoop to their level... . When i was there One dental assistant came and started to do X ray and i asked her why she doing that , he became rude " this is how we do it here "...the dentist never bothered to see me eventhough i asked for him . the front desk dont even look at your office ...all they look is t your face and if you dont belong to a certain prototype and then they deal with you with rudeness and cold shoulder !!! Please avoid this ...they are only seeing money money, no people skills, no commitments to community
