For the past 50 years, Dental Arts of Mountain View has been committed to the restoration and enhancement of your teeth. We use cutting-edge technology and procedures to give you the smile that you want and that will last for years to come. We are also dedicated to using the latest technology at our Mountain View dental office to make your experience as comfortable and efficient as we possibly can!
We strive to provide the best in dental care for all of our patients. Everyone receives a holistic, individualized dental treatment plan which takes into consideration total body health. Our standards in terms of excellence demand that we provide the optimum restorative and cosmetic dental procedures to get the results you want and deserve.
We believe that prevention is the best medicine, which is why we focus on total body healthversus oral health. Our dental exams thoroughly check the overall health of all your teeth and gums. We even check for oral cancer and take x-rays if necessary to make sure we see everything. Additionally, we promote regular dental check-ups, cleanings, daily flossing, mineral treatments and use sealants in order to prevent dental disease.
Even better, our team periodically reviews your medical history so that we know which medications you are on and if youve been dealing with any illnesses that may influence the health of your mouth, gums, and teeth.
The American Dental Association (ADA) has very strict guidelines for dental practices to maintain cleanliness, to prevent any cross contamination and for the sterilization of all tools, implements and equipment used in the practice. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) also demands strict adherence to their guidelines as does the Center for Disease Control (CDC). We are proud to say that we are in compliance with the standards recommended by all governing bodies and are uncompromising in our safety and infection control practices.
In order to keep up with the latest technology and procedures in the practice of dentistry, we view continuing education and training as necessaryfor all team members. As skilled dental professionals, we strive to give you the best care possible to maintain your healthy teeth and smile. There are ongoing classes, lectures, meetings and conventions that provide us with the training to perform the latest techniques and use the newest dental equipment. This is the only way we will continue to be able to provide the cutting-edge care that we are known for. We also maintain membership in a variety of professional dental organizations which also helps us keep up with all the changes going on in the dental profession.
At Dental Arts of Mountain View, we pride ourselves on having built a trusting relationship with all our patients for over 50 years. Our commitment is to closely examine and evaluate every patients needs and our entire team is determined to make your visit as comfortable as possible. Some patients are fearful of visiting the dentist, but we will do everything to make sure that your visits with us our pain-free - and fear-free, too!

As you know, I have been on a leave of absence from the practice of dentistry since March 1 of this year. I underwent mostly successful back surgery, a life-saving coronary artery stent procedure to correct a major blockage that I didnt even know existed, and was blessed to be able to care for my mother in our home during hospice, as she was able to live out the final months of her life with her family close by. It has been a time of reflection and gratitude for all that my family and I have been blessed with. One of the richest blessings has been the honor of being able to be a partner in your dental health and to be enriched through our friendships as well. I continually feel as though I have been a small part of each of your lives and families and not just a dental provider. When I chose to merge our dental practice with Dental Arts of Mountain View, I knew that back surgery was in my future and that I could be completely confident in their commitment to continuing quality dental care while I recuperated. I had hoped that I would be able to return although I envisioned it being with a reduced schedule. Unfortunately, my back surgeon has been less enthusiastic about my return to practicing dentistry. He projects that I would be in pain again, possibly within a year after returning, requiring another more aggressive surgery. He projects that if I step away, I may be relatively pain-free for 10+ years. After more than 40 years of practicing dentistry, it is time to retire. This has been a much harder decision and taken more time than I thought it would, but it is time to move on to retirement so that Mary Anne and I can enjoy as much time as possible with our children, their families, and especially our grandchildren. Again, I will miss each of you and am so grateful for your trust in us all these years. I hope you know that I have that same trust in the doctors and team at Dental Arts. Dr. Van, Dr. Indah, and Dr. Beckstead are all extremely talented and ethical clinicians. The support staff is equally talented and welcoming. They were a joy to work with while I was there (Natalie and Carmen continue to work in the office and look forward to continuing your care). My confidence is evidenced by the fact that Mary Anne and I are still going there for our own dental treatment when we are in the Bay Area. Rosie or Cassy would be happy to help you with any scheduling needs or answer any questions. I know that each of you will continue to receive the highest level of care moving forward. If you just want to stay in touch, I would love to hear from you or can try to answer any questions you have as best I can via email at [emailprotected] With the deepest gratitude, I wish each of you all success, happiness, and of course good dental health in the future!
