Dr. Todd Shainholtz grew up in the suburbs of Omaha, Nebraska and graduated from Westside High School in 1978. He was involved in the football team, the marching band and the jazz band. He has played trombone since fifth grade, and later the tuba/saxophone. His scholastic emphasis was in the sciences, already eyeing a career in the medical/dental field.
He went to undergraduate college at Nebraska Wesleyan University, a small Methodist university in Lincoln, Nebraska. Dr. Shainholtz attended Nebraska Wesleyan University before entering Dental School. Again, his emphasis was in the sciences and played in the Band. He was a member of the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity there.
Dental School began in the fall of 1981 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry, the day after his twenty-first birthday. Dr. Shainholtz could usually be found in the Endodontic or Oral Surgery clinics when he wasnt directly involved with a patient of his own. While he knew he had the skill level to enter a number of specialty programs, he loved so many aspects of dentistry that he decided to specialize in all phases of quality dentistry.
Upon graduating from dental school in May of 1985, Todd came upon this practice in Eagle, Colorado after finding out about the opportunity from several different sources, namely trade advertisements, dental suppliers and even a family friend. Since then, he has built his practice upon quality care, empathy for his fellow man and listening to his patients. Our philosophy revolves around giving you, our patients what you want. Dr. Shainholtz is obsessive about continuing education, always wanting to learn new procedures to benefit his patients.
Dr. Shainholtz was married to his long time girlfriend, Anne, in the summer of 1983 in a wonderful rose garden service. Todd and Anne will celebrate their 33rd wedding anniversary this year. They have 30 year old son who is an architect in Frisco, Colorado. Also they have 27year old daughter who works for the school district in speech and hearing, after receiving a bachelors degree in that field.
Dr. Todd likes to ski in the winter, as well as vacationing in various tropical locations involving both surfing and scuba diving. In the summertime he likes hiking, biking and hitting the mountain roads in his 66 Bronco. Also he likes stand-up paddle boarding in the Colorado River and local lakes. He plays trombone in local musicals and even played with a rock band. He plays great music in his office, usually classic rock and the blues, but he takes requests!
Frances has lived in the Vail Valley her whole life and has always been a patient of Dr. Shainholtz. Frances has been working for Dr. Shainholtz since 2013 and she looks forward to meeting new and old patients and assisting with your insurance and financial needs. Frances has two boys, Logan and Lincoln. Frances enjoys hiking, camping, fishing, hunting and spending time with her family.
Melissa grew up in Yampa, CO. She has been a Dental Assistant since 2014 and loves her job. She has four kids that are her world. She enjoys hunting, hiking, traveling, and breeding corgis. She enjoys learning new things and helping patients have a beautiful smile.
Cheryl joins the team loving her job and making people smile. Cheryl has 20 plus years of experience as a hygienist. She loves the mountains, skiing, and road biking. Cheryl chose to work for this amazing dental team because Dr. Shainholtz has a great office and plays the best music.
