Dental Aid was the first not-for-profit comprehensive dental clinic in Colorado. Founded as a referral organization in 1974, Dental Aid opened its first full-service clinic in Boulder in 1980. Dental Aid now has clinics located in Boulder, Longmont and Louisville which provide emergency, preventive, restorative and specialty care including pediatrics, orthodontics, and oral surgery. Our tele-dentistry programs make oral health services more accessible by bringing the services of a registered dental hygienist to community settings where clients are already present.

Dental Aids mission is to improve the quality of life of children and adults struggling to afford health care by providing compassionate, affordable, high quality dental care and education, while advocating to ensure access to care.

Had an exam for the first time in several years with Dr Hicks. She was very nice, listened to my concerns and gave me the referrals I needed. The front desk staff were very patient with me when I mixed up my insurance information and helped me straighten it out.

Absolutely excellent service. A great thanks all the staff and especially to Doctor Skoretz. I received a dental implant and Doctor Skoretz walked me through all of the processes and procedure with great skill, kindness, and care. I have complete confidence in his ability and would recommend him for any dental needs. Thank you so much.

I am so grateful I found Dr.Mena and all of the team this Spring. I have been needing dental care for a while and postponing my visit during covid but finally signed up with Dental Aid in Boulder. I am so glad. It was the best dental experience I have ever had. I had lots of cavities to be filled and was extremely nervous but throughout my many visits I have never felt any pain and was always so well taken care of. Thank you sooo much for all. See you!

I've experienced extremely great service and exceptionally terrible service here. The dentist you get makes all the difference. Dr. Hicks is outstanding and Dr. Skoretz is horrendous. The good: Dr. Hicks is an amazing dentist. She's kind, professional, and I believe genuinely cares about her patients. I'm prone to cavities, (and I definitely eat too much sugar) so I've had 4 cavities filled by her. She always checks to make sure I'm fully numb before going too far. Also, I never feel her numbing injections! Seriously, she's one of the best dentists I've seen. My experience with Dr. Skoretz was like something out of a nightmare. I had to get a tooth pulled and I was given the numbing injection. He started by prodding my tooth along the gums and I let him know that I could feel that and it was hurting. He then prodded the other side of my mouth (hard!) to show me that it would hurt a lot more without the numbing. He then started to pull out the tooth, and I was in a ton of pain. I let him know it was hurting me, and to stop - tears started welling up in my eyes from how much it hurt. He told me he couldn't work on me because he stated that I was numbed and that the pain was all in my head. He then walked out, and the assistant brought me a reference for an oral surgeon. I left without saying anything because I was in so much pain and I was in complete shock. I have never been talked down to like that from a man without standing up for myself. My tooth is now broken in places and I can feel sharp shards of tooth pushing in my gums because he started the process but stopped. I am in a lot of pain. Honestly, if it wasn't for Dr. Hicks, I would never set foot in that office again. The front desk workers and assistants are really nice too.

The dentist refused to fix a broken tooth without a "consolation", even though I had already had x-rays taken (they were requiring me to make an additional appointment). Seems like they are acting medicaid. Nurse dropped something on the floor and had to be told that it could not be used in my mouth. The younger dentist has some issues, beware of him also!

I have been visiting Dental Aid in Boulder for over 9 years. I have received incredible service from every hygienist who have cleaned my teeth. Regarding exams and treatment, Doctor Mena has been an incredible dentist. He is very intelligent, experienced and detailed oriented. He has always provided excellent advice. All his treatments have been spot on and very durable. I don't see any reason not to receive treatment at Dental Aid in Boulder.

Switched to Dr Hicks from comfort dental. Every visit at comfort dental I was told I needed a root canal.. odd, when I never experienced any pain, I came to realize it was all about the money for comfort dental. I have extreme anxiety when it comes to the dentist and I have NEVER felt more at ease than I did at dental aid meeting with dr Hicks. She informed me that not only did I not need 2 root canals, I didn't need one at all!!! She fixed the problem with two quick fillings and made me feel so comfortable! My next appointment was handled with the exact same environment and I am so grateful that I made the switch!!! I 100% recommend Dr Hicks at dental aid in Boulder!!!

I made an appointment to have my teeth cleaned at Dental Aid before the pandemic started. When I arrived I checked in with the receptionist who only asked me my name and gave me some paper work to fill out and didn't ask if I had insurance. They took me back and took some x-rays. The woman that took the x-rays said the dentist would come in and look at my teeth and then I would be able to make an appointment for a cleaning but they didn't have opening for several months. I told the woman that my appointment today was for a cleaning and I was expecting a cleaning that day and if I had known my appointment was only for x-rays I would have gone somewhere else. I was very upset to say the least. They did arrange for me to have a cleaning while I was there When I was checking out I was given a bill for the cost of the x-rays and cleaning. I told them I had insurance and that Dental Aid was one of the providers and the services should be covered 100%. The receptionist told me I never said I had insurance and because of that I would be required to pay the services out of pocket. That makes absolutely no sense. I said I wasn't going to pay and that they needed to contact my insurance provider to be paid. The receptionist was very rude and incompetent. I thought the dentist was okay and the hygienist was really good but I will not be going back again because of the receptionist.
