Dr. Meghan Foster came to Alaska after graduating from the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine in 2008. Prior to dental school, she played Division I soccer at the University of Colorado.

While in undergraduate school, she earned two bachelor degrees; one in Journalism, as well as one in Kinesiology/Applied Physiology. After dental school, Dr. Foster went on to complete a 2-year pediatric dental residency program with the Alaska Native Medical Center. After completion of the residency, she became a board certified pediatric dentist.

Her passion has always been to treat children and to give them smiles that they feel proud of. Dr. Meghan especially enjoys working with children and families that come to her with special needs. She has taken dental mission trips to Romania, and works with local outreach programs through UAA, Give kids a Smile, Anchorage Project Access and the Alaska Dental Mission of Mercy.

She is a member of the American Dental Association, Alaskan Dental Society, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Not only did Dr. Foster attend the University of Colorado dental school, her husband did as well! They are the proud parents of a beautiful little girl, and a darling son. They keep busy outside of the dental office enjoying everything from family soccer games to fishing, camping, and skiing. As far as they are concerned, nothing is better than the Alaskan outdoors!

Dr. Almut Tropp is a board-certified pediatric dentist. She has lived and studied all over the world, including Germany, Japan, Singapore, and the Netherlands. Dr. Tropp obtained her bachelors degree in Neuroscience from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts (in addition to loving everything about attending a women's college, Dr. Tropp was also able to bring her horse with her and compete on the dressage team!). Upon graduating, she received a DAAD fellowship to study Rhett Syndrome at the University of Heidelberg in Germany (she dreams about German bread, delicious chocolate, and hilltop castles every day!). After conducting research full time for a few years, Dr. Tropp attended dental school at the University of California San Francisco and graduated in 2012 (she followed her brother's footsteps - he graduated from UCSF two years ahead of her and is now an oral surgeon!). While in dental school, she was elected to Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a prestigious national dental honor society and also held several leadership positions including president of the Student Society of Pediatric Dentistry. Following dental school, Almut received specialty training in pediatric dentistry at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (she still craves Greater's ice cream and Skyline chili!). She absolutely loves being a pediatric dentist and working with the most interesting, hilarious, and sweet demographic ever!

Dr. Tropp's greatest passion in life is her family. Her husband is also a dentist (they met in dental school), and along with their two young children, they enjoy traveling (domestic & international) and exploring the outdoors. Dr. Tropp's most recent greatest accomplishment is taking her 2 and 5 year old on several 10 and 14+ hour red eye flights all by herself! Dr. Tropp is committed to service and has gone on several service missions to Cambodia, in addition to participating in many local community events. Having two children of her own has only increased her desire to connect with and provide a fun, relaxing dental experience for as many other children as she can! She is excited to be part of the Denali dental family and can't wait to get to know all of you!

The dental assistant that cleaned my son's teeth was not gentle and she was so mean and not friendly at all. She sounded irritated when my son was having a hard time biting the thing she inserted in his mouth to get some images. She is working with kids she needs to learn how to be more patient. My son cried because of how this dental assistant treated him. The dentist told us that they don't want kids to have a bad experience with their dental visits but why did they hire someone who does not have enough patience with kids?

This is the best pediatric dentistry there is. Everything is a wonderful experience from the front desk with their exceptional interpersonal skills and diligent reminders to the hygienists and doctors working quickly (yet patiently) and kindly to treat for our children. The team is always in a positive mood and they genuinely care for making the experience as great as they can for the little ones.

Although I liked the staff, the appointment policy is a major disservice to patients in need of care. Mental health is rampant in Alaska and fear and anxiety of losing care due to missed appointments is one of the most unkind policies a provider can enact especially if the parent or guardian is experiencing depression, PTSD, or other mental health crisis. No person should have to explain to a provider ,who is not servicing them, their diagnoses.

Devon was so quick and made it easier by involving my little man in his cleaning. When we left I almost checked him for a fever my nine year olds exact words were "mom that was cool I had a really good time" update just went back again for his six month and it was a pleasure for all. Everyone was laughing the whole time and great results.
