Growing up on Long Island, New York, I often worked as a dental assistant for my dad, who was a general dentist. His plan for me to follow in his footsteps eventually worked, first I pursued my dream of a career as a photographer. I attended the School of Visual Arts and graduated with a B.F.A. in Photography in 1994. I specialized in documentary and portraiture. While freelancing for various magazines, I came to San Francisco on an assignment. I realized instantly that I belonged in Northern California and decided to move out to San Francisco. After working as a photographer and supplementing my income with temporary jobs, I landed a position at the University of California San Francisco Dental School. I ultimately decided it was time to return to school and become a dentist. I graduated in 2003 from the University of the Pacific Dental School (now known as Dugoni School of Dentistry).
In 2008 I took over for a retiring dentist Dr Chistopher Neal. I enjoy practicing in Sonoma and in 2012 was able to expand and remodel the office. I strive to provide my patients state of the art dental dental care in a comfortable environment. The office has the latest technology including one day crowns and a cone beam ( three dimensional x-ray).
Sonoma is not only one of the most scenic locations with great access to the city, mountains and beach but it is a wonderful community. Over the past 12 years my staff and patients have truly become like family. The past couple of years this community has had to come together to deal with many challenges. The fires, blackouts, and now Covid-19 has changed the way we live and work but has only made our community tighter. As we all face these challenges together my commitment to creating a lifetime of oral health to my patients only deepens.
I live in Sebastopol with my husband, goats, donkeys, chickens, cats, sheep and a dog. The office is also decorated with my animals. When Im not working I spend time gardening, hiking, swimming, and taking care of the animals.
I was born and raised in San Francisco and my children are proud to be the fourth generation born in SF. While a piece of my heart will always be in San Francisco, I love the North Bay community and have fully embraced suburban life.
I was drawn to dentistry as a career since it combines art and science. I am passionate about lifelong learning and I am heavily involved in planning dental conventions for both the state of California as well as my dental school alma mater-Dugoni Dental School. I also just completed a post-graduate teaching certification with the future goal of becoming part-time faculty at Dugoni.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two daughters. I love paddle boarding hiking, crafting, puzzles and I am a voracious reader. I would love to hear about your favorite trails and books as I am always looking for a new adventure.
I completed my dental hygiene education at West Los Angeles, California in 1998. From which I obtained Outstanding Achievement of Dental Health Skills in Community and Clinical Practice Award. I belonged to the Deans Honor List and was member of Alpha Gamma Sigma Honor Society. In addition, I took part in clinical rotations at various dental establishments such as UCLA School of Dentistry, Cedars Sinai Hospital, Wadsworth Veterans Admin. Hospital, Venice Dental Clinic, The Childrens Dental Center and local dentist clinics in the Los Angeles are. In 2012, I pursued further dental hygiene education and training and became a Registered Dental Hygienist in Alternative Practice.
