We have not placed Amalgam restorations for several years because there are better options for our patients including natural looking composites, porcelain, ceramic and finally gold restorations. Gold is an excellent material but is used much less frequently than in the past.
Yes, your silver fillings can be replaced even if a replacement is not required. Seeing white when you smile is definitely more appealing than the black looking silver fillings so many people have. Your silver fillings usually last 5 to 8 years and will eventually need to be replaced. If your primary concern is the color and the filling is in good shape, there are other options such as white fillings or porcelain inlays.

Came for a consultation for what I was told was TMJ (I have headaches, vertigo, and ringing in my ears). I wanted Dr. Shapiro since he comes highly recommended for TMJ. The good doctor spent 2+ hours with me teaching me the interconnectedness between all the bones and muscles. He sprayed some cold spray on my head, stretched my head, and my headache was gone. He evaluated how I stand, walk, and breathe. In the end, he recommended the cold spray and a simple rubber mouth guard. Almost no cost at all. Very thorough. No need for a 2nd visit. All that and a very engaging personality.

Delany Dental is by far the best experience I've ever had when it comes to dentists. I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Shapira and Kelly. I've had extensive work done and I'm about finished. For the 1st time in years I'm smiling with confidence. I'm going to be very honest. I had no bottom teeth. I was embarrassed for years. So many foods I couldn't eat. Argh, I just felt bad. Through bad advice from dentists through the years I ended up where I was when I walked in to Delany Dental the first time in November of last year. Regular dentures weren't going to work for me. Today, I have partial implants and a complete set of teeth. I can't stop looking in the mirror. From my consultation to my visit today, and there were many, each experience was amazing. They are so compassionate and empathetic. It's been about an 8 month journey with them and I feel so blessed to have made the decision to trust them with truly changing my life. Two people that I will never forget have made such a huge impact on how I feel about myself. Life changing

Had a consultation with Doctor Shapira regarding pain in my jaw. It was TMJ. Doctor Shapira showed me how, so many muscles in our body, can affect you, in ways you never would have considered! The pain I was experiencing, was not only in my left jaw, but also, in also in my left ear, neck and sometimes, would radiate over my head!!! Doctor Shapira showed me all kinds of information regarding this. He then fitted me with an oral appliance, an Aqualizer Mini., temporary oral splint. I could not believe how quickly, the pain went away. Also, some of the sense of balance, that I have trouble with, due to nueropathy in my feet, improved, along with my hip getting into the proper alignment! I am EXTREMELY happy with the treatment I received from Doctor Shapira, and the results of his treatment. I would HIGHLY recommend Doctor Shapira, if you are having issues with jaw pain, sleep appnea, or any dental issues. Doctor Shapira, has done extensive research on many issues, that most doctors, have not even heard of. Plus, Doctor Shapira, has had several papers and studies, published, regarding numerous dental health and related issues!

I went in for a consultation and met with Dr. Amidei. He was easily the nicest and most informative Dentist I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He took his time and explained everything so thoroughly and in so much detail and most importantly gave me a TRUE/HONEST opinion! It did take a while to be seen based off of my appointment time, but to be honest it was worth waiting!! Anyone who takes their time with you like Dr. Amidei did is worth the wait! Side note: the office is very clean and nice and everyone from the front desk on is so kind and polite and helpful. I had a great experience with everyone i spoke with! I wish my insurance covered this office because i would be a patient there in a heart beat!

Best dentist around, Dr. Shapira is so kind, compassionate with scaredy-cats and so knowledgeable! He's even helped me in the past with my chronic pain. Was able to get me in today last minute because of pain I thought was a tooth, and when he realized it was my TMJ he helped loosen my jaw and neck muscles and I feel better already! If you are someone who is putting off the dentist because you are afraid, please go see him - the whole staff is wonderful! And if you are dealing with chronic migraines,TMJ and facial pain - please see him ASAP, he can help you! I give them 10000000 stars! Thank you all, you'll see me soon!

I have struggled to find a suitable dentist for quite some time but Delany Dental was highly recommended by friends and family. I was pleasantly surprised by their kind and knowledgeable team, from the insightful hygienists to the Office Manager that helped me navigate payment options. The staff is very patient-oriented, hoping to be a partner and educational resource for patients. Definitely a refreshing shift from patronizing dentists I have dealt with in the past. 10/10

I have been going to see Dr. Ira Shapira for years. Dr. Shapira, Kelly and all the other staff are wonderful and highly professional. They are really knowledgable, thorough, great communicators, friendly and kind. They take the time to understand your concerns and needs to make sure you are getting the service, and products, that are right for you.They also have a really comfortable office, and are careful to make sure that everyone is safe during this pandemic. I highly recommend them.

Dr Amidei is simply THE BEST!! I have high anxiety when it comes to dental visits and have been putting off a dental procedure. Dr Amidei and his staff are so patient, helpful and extremely amazing at their job! I felt no pain at all and I am over the moon happy with my results! I can't say enough positive things about Delany Dental!! I LOVE my new smile and am excited I finally found the right dentist for me! I would highly recommend Delany dentistry. They are knowledgeable and caring. The staff is personable and provides great service. Dr. Amidei has made significant improvements in the health and look of my teeth. I'm very happy and more confident of my smile. Dr Shapira diagnosed sleep apnea in my 10 year old son that has been missed. He provided excellent recommendations for corrective orthodontics and ENT. It has been life changing for him. As well as, diagnosing a tongue tie in my 12 year old that corrective surgery made a significant difference for him. My hygienist, Jackie, provides excellent care and instruction on how to maintain healthy teeth. As a dental group, they are caring for the patient more holistically and provide significant value for you time and cost.
