Using 3D CT scanning, we can replicate a digital model of your oral anatomy and create a special guide that allows for dental implants to be placed in a way that minimizes the need for other supportive therapies (such as bone grafting or sinus lifts.) Most dental implants are made of titanium, which is both biocompatible and hypoallergenic. When placed into the jaw, our bodies naturally develop new bone around the artificial root, fusing it permanently into place (a process we call osseointegration).
Dr. Carlos Medina graduated from the University of Puerto Rico in 2001 and moved to Florida to achieve his dream of owning his own dental practice. He acquired Deland Dental in December of 2002 and has been providing his excellent dental services to the residents of Deland and Volusia county ever since.Dr. Medina performs all general dentistry procedures but finds cosmetic and surgical procedures to be his most rewarding work. He received his Dental Implant certification in 2007 and has placed hundreds of implants successfully to date. He received his Invisalign certification in 2007 and has helped many patients improve their beautiful smiles with perfectly straight teeth. Dr. Medina has been Cerec (same-day crown) certified since 2007 and has been making many hundreds of crowns for happy and satisfied patients.Dr. Medina has many interests he enjoys doing in his free time. As an avid skydiver, he bought the practice in 2002 originally for its proximity to the Deland drop zone and enjoyed skydiving during his lunch breaks. In 2007, he won the Sportsman Division of the Skip Barber Regional Championship along with the Rookie of the Year during the Skip Barber racing series.He enjoys visiting Utah during the winter seasons where he is an expert-level snowboarder and has even gone heli-snowboarding on Cardiac Ridge. Dr. Medina most recently fulfilled his lifelong dream to become a pilot and obtained his private pilots certification in July of 2013.

Costumer service is really bad. I had an appointment scheduled for something minor and they called me 4 minutes before my appointment to reschedule it. I was already in the parking lot and I told them to please see me since it was something really easy. the lady said, no the doctor has to leave and they rescheduled two days later. I didn't go back. My husband is a regular patient and has spent a lot of money there. He is not going back either.

I have been coming here for years now, my original post is at the bottom. I feel like it's comparable to a spa treatment getting teeth cleaned w/ Myrna. It's great to have such an extremely competent Doctor and Hygienist! Staff are good, especially Io. I just saw here a post that the Doc had to cancel a patient re: an emergency - and that can happen, so getting upset for an inconvenience, meh. Many years ago when I'd first found them I wrote this: I am totally thrilled I finally found Carlos Medina. Some dentists don't even want to keep up a cleaning schedule unless you get all the seriously expensive work they (often rudely) 'think' is necessary, but Dr. Medina has given me hope. He is working within my meager budget to help maintain & extend the best health of my mouth, and therefore the health of my being, without demeaning me as others have done. I've finally found someone who is honest, open and concerned. He's also incredibly talented, accomplishing a root canal THROUGH the crown w/out the need for a new crown (as I'd been told by others couldn't be done) = icing on the cake! Yep, I now have hope, a wonderful thing. And, remember, when looking at reviews, consider the source by looking at other posts they've written.

This place is extremely professional, they are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Very down to Earth doctor and knows exactly what he's doing. Staff very personable with excellent bedside manners, the manager surely knows how to make you feel at home. Love, love, LOVE!!

DeLand Dental is an upbeat, professional office with amazing, friendly staff and a full range of dental services. Dr. Medina is a highly trained young dentist who offers a wide range of services from orthodontics (braces) to root canals, crowns and whitening to fillings and extractions. Every step of your dental experience is explained and even the most reluctant patient is put at ease here. My whole family loves Dr. Medina and his staff. I highly recommend this office for all of your dental needs.

We made an appointment with over one week ahead of time due to an awful toothache my husband had. Because they only work certain days and hours, my husband had to take a day off at work to get to the 9:00 am appointment. Once there, we started with the paperwork and all of sudden, the doctor gets a personal call and says he has to leave. The other option we had was a 45 minute ride (in addition to the 30 minute ride we had already done) or take another day off at work. It is not fair for low-wage people to have to be absent from work just to fit into their timing. After all, there are other options.

4/20/2020 I saw you last year, affordable , great experience. i walked in as an EMERGENCY visit, paid $39 or $49 for my visit. I paid for my emergency X-ray, exam, extraction, bridge $3,175. My husband is suffering from a toothache. I call to set up an EMERGENCY appointment, you are charging $175 ?? It's disappointing you have raised your prices, during this unfortunate time. I'm just disappointed. This is why I changed my rating, to a one star. Your character really stands out, taking advantage of self pay patients, during such a terrible time.

The staff was wonderful! The doctor was super patient with my dental phobia. He was very patient and didn't hurt me one bit! Made me laugh my whole appointment! All the girls were so sweet and attentive. Hands down best dental office I've ever gone to. I've always been nervous to go to the dentist but they completely changed my mood about it! Forever my dentist ! Will recommend to all family and friends!

Carlos Medina DDS is a great guy. Ive been going to him for 18 years. He purchased the practice from Dr Knapke 20 years ago. Its a small office with small town charm. If you're wanting a crusty, old, stoic dentist, Carlos is not your guy. He's a colorful, articulate character that will entertain you with stories of his travels and people he meets. His work is excellent and he stands behind it.

My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Medina for two decades. We have had a few disagreements, but it has always been worked out! They are not as affordable as they used to be, but still the most convenient place for us. They are very easy to reach both through phone and patient portal. The dental hygienist, Myrna, is amazing! She's extremely nice and professional. The receptionist and dental assistant are friendly and helpful! Dr. Medina is funny and talks a lot, but has no filter! My husband probably thinks he talks way too much, but I'll take that over my mom's dentist who walks into the room and work on her teeth without saying a single word to her or making eye contact!
