Aside from meeting the dental needs of my patients, I get to know each of them on a personal level. I live in the same community as our office, so I see my patients daily, on a social level: at the grocery store, in church, at my children and grandchildrens schools. My patients look to me for guidance on their oral health, and for their personal and spiritual health, too.

Each year I take many hours of continuing education, such as those offered at the United States Dental Institute. Oral healthcare is a constantly changing field. New technologies, materials, and processes are steadily becoming available, and its my duty to remain current on these developments. My patients trust me to provide the best care available; continuing education ensures Im able to exceed their expectations.

I grew up in Quezon City, in the Philippines, but for the last 25 years, Ive lived in Burlingame. When Im not caring for my patients, spending time with my friends and loved ones is a priority. I also enjoy taking daily walks, but am usually at home, lost in a book or baking in the kitchen. I love to make a variety of desserts: cookies, cakes, cupcakes, and cake pops are among my favorites.

Im also active in our local church, and volunteer with several other churches, elementary schools, and clubs. I live in the same community as our dental practice, and being able to contribute to our community helps us all.

I am extremely blessed to be a dentist. Its gratifying to see patients face light up when I take off their braces and unveil their new smile. Even after 15+ years of practicing, I'm still overwhelmed when a patient thanks me after Ive taken away the pain, or fixed a tooth that has been bothering them. I know I have truly made a difference in their life.

I love everything about dentistry (self proclaimed dental nerd!). It's mindblowing to think how a tooth forms from a minuscule cell into the teeth that we use everyday. I am amazed by how we, as dentists, can take any situation a patient may present and engineer a solution that works for their unique needs. You wouldn't believe some of the newest innovations that dental technology has brought, and we try to incorporate that into our practice as much as possible.

At the same time, I love the humanistic aspect of dentistry and connecting with my patients. I love how dentistry is not just tooth-related, but has implications for the entire body. Im not just working on a persons oral health: I am working to restore them to their optimum health.

Im very passionate about continuous learning. My dental career has taken me to so many places that I'm grateful to have learned from. I was a former Assistant Clinical Professor at the UC San Francisco School of Dentistry. Ive completed programs in TMJ disorders & cosmetic dentistry at the Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies and in full bracket orthodontics at Progressive Orthodontic Seminars. Its only by constantly expanding my knowledge and strengthening my skills that Im able to meet the needs and expectations of my patients.

I grew up in South San Francisco and after I graduated from dental school, returned to my hometown to establish my career. My home life is shared with my wife Marjorie (another dentist in our practice), and our two daughters, Madison and Averie.

Spending time with my family, when Im not caring for my patients, is my favorite past time. We love traveling together, family movie nights and everything Disney (including Star Wars & Marvel). Im also really passionate about exercise: I've run full marathons, completed Olympic distance triathlons (including Escape from Alcatraz twice), and finished the Spartan Race Trifecta and Tough Mudder in the same year. After earning my black belt in Tae Kwon Do during high school, I've now renewed my passion for martial arts once again: boxing, Muay Thai, and I am currently a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. For me, exercise is cathartic; it helps me clear my mind and refresh myself mentally.

One of my favorite things about dentistry is the fact that I can make a positive, lasting difference in someones life. I can help people by removing dental pain and restoring their ability to chew comfortably and properly. Best of all, I can make them love their smile again.

To me and everyone in our office, dentistry is not a cookie-cutter profession. I work one-to-one with my patients, to learn their desires and concerns. Then I present the treatment options and make my recommendations, but its always up to the patient to decide what the right treatment approach is for them. Its up to me to provide them with the information needed to make an educated decision.

Working with patients, many of whom feel like friends and family members, is the best part of my day. I look forward to seeing each person, hearing about whats been happening in their life since their last visit, and strengthening our friendship. I am honored they let me become part of their life.

Now is an exciting time to be practicing dentistry. There are constant developments in dental materials, treatments, and technologies. All of these allow us to provide even more comfortable and accurate care, with the most incredible results for our patients.

After growing up in San Jose, I lived in San Francisco and Philadelphia for my schooling, and then settled in South San Francisco. I married my college sweetheart, Andrew (whos also a dentist here in the practice), after we both finished dental school. We have two beautiful daughters and a family dog.

When Im not at work, youll find me at my second job: being a mom. I am very active with their school board, enjoy associating with fellow parents, and spending time with my daughters/taking them to their various activities. During my free time, I enjoy cooking, watching Marvel movies/tv shows, and traveling with my family.

Getting to know and building relationships with our patients is the best part of working in our offices. As the longest tenured dental auxiliary in our offices, I have developed amazing friendships with our patients over the years! I like that we provide care that really improves a persons dental and body health. Im especially enthusiastic about seeing the end results for our orthodontic patients: their smiles are incredible (I should know, I am one of the success stories!). I provide chairside assistance, to support our doctors and patients. I also work in the front, scheduling visits, billing insurance, and collecting payments.

I have built so many great relationships with our patients and love seeing the appreciation and joy a patient expresses when weve completed our work. Its a wonderful feeling to know youve made a real difference in someones life! I currently work at both South San Francisco and Millbrae offices in both the front office as well as chairside. I welcome patients when they arrive, answer the phones, and schedule visits. I also handle billing matters and communications with insurance companies.

As the primary point of contact between patient and doctor, I spend a lot of time getting to know each patient. I love seeing improvement in a patients oral health and overall wellness as a result of our time with them. It is my goal to help our patients achieve their dental goals, whether it is a full mouth makeover or just a routine dental checkup and cleaning. Educating patients and encouraging them to make positive changes in their life is the most fulfilling outcome from my work.

Its amazing to see the power dentistry can make in peoples lives, from taking a person out of pain to the beautiful aesthetic and orthodontic dentistry our doctors produce. These transformations never cease to amaze me. As a chairside assistant, I begin by taking the initial X-rays for patient visits. Afterwards, I work closely with the doctors and patients for optimal dental care.

I love interacting with different people every day, to learn about their lives and families. We always have interesting conversations. Its wonderful to work in a positive environment, where we help people feel better about their smiles and get healthy. I sterilize our instruments and prepare patients to see the doctor. Then I work chairside, to ensure the doctor has everything needed and making sure our patient is comfortable and relaxed.

In my free time, I love to be with my family: my husband and my two boys. We always find time for family bonding time in spite of our crazy schedules. We all love to eat, go to restaurants, and watch movies together.
