Dr. Gregory DeFelice grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs. He received his Bachelors degree, graduating Magna Cum Laude with general university honors from LaSalle University in Philadelphia. Dr. DeFelice then graduated second in his class from Temple University School of Dentistry with his Doctorate of Dental Medicine. He completed his orthodontic training and received his Masters degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Dr. DeFelice is a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, and a member of the American Association of Orthodontists and Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontists. He currently lectures to orthodontic residents at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

An orthodontist is a dental specialist who has received two to three years of additional training and experience. Your orthodontist is able to straighten teeth, correct misaligned jaw structure, and improve the function of your smile.
If you want to improve the look and feel of your smile, then any age can be a great age to see the orthodontist. The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children first visit an orthodontist around the age of seven; however, orthodontic treatment is not exclusive to children and teens, with about one in every five orthodontic patients being over the age of 21. Whether you're considering treatment for yourself or for a child, any time is a good time to visit the orthodontist.
The amount of time spent in braces will vary depending on the individual patient, because every smile responds differently to treatment. Treatment times can take anywhere between six and 30 months, but most standard treatments take about 22 months.
With braces, you should brush your teeth at least three times a day to keep your teeth, gums, and mouth healthy and clean. Brushing regularly will help remove any food that may be caught between the braces. You should also floss daily to get in between your braces where your brush isn't able to reach. Your orthodontist can show you how to properly brush and floss once your braces are placed.
Yes! In fact, it's even more important that patients receiving orthodontic treatment visit their dentist regularly. With braces, food may be caught in places that your toothbrush can't reach. This causes bacteria to build up that can lead to cavities, gingivitis, and gum disease. Your dentist will work closely with your orthodontist to make sure that your teeth stay clean and healthy while wearing braces.
Playing an instrument or a contact sport may require some adjustment when you first get your braces, but wearing braces will not stop you from participating in any of your school activities. If you play a contact sport, it is recommended that you wear a mouthguard to protect your braces or appliance.

The younger bigger orthodontist was rude, impatient and unprofessional. I asked a question about my child's tooth and he made a mockery of my concern. We took our other child to a different one.

I am a new patient in the process of having Invisalign (in house) installed on my teeth! Everyone was extremely kind and took the time to explain the process and answered all of my questions in a relaxing and quite beautiful atmosphere! They run specials periodically and I found them to be very reasonable!!! Thank you Dr. DeFelice and staff!!! Ps Dr. DeFelice has the cutest puppy to greet you when you come in

We were in the area from out of state and my son had an issue with his braces that was causing him pain. I called Dr Vecere's office and they were wonderful. They told us to come right over. Everyone in the office was so nice and so helpful. Dr Vecere was so kind( and funny), fixed my sons problem, also took care of another issue that my son didn't even mention . One of the best overall Experiences we have had in a Drs office.

My son Christopher is a Patient at DeFelice & Vecere. I am extremely happy with this office! The Staff is outstanding and the rewards card really keeps Christopher on his best Braces behavior because he wants to earn free gift cards! The Staff and Doctors at this practice are all amazing and extremely friendly! They answer all questions and are there when you need them! Thanks for making Christopher's transition to braces so easy! I am sure there are going to be More Unpleasant times for him in the future, but you guys always seem to make him aware of how he is going to feel! Thanks for being such a GREAT PLACE! I do not believe I am exaggerating to say that this office/doctor/staff is the best in their profession in South Jersey, but not only that I would put them at the top of ANY list for professions in South Jersey. Go there one time and you will see why. Thanks Dr. Hook ;)

Respect is very important to me - Doctor Vecere and his staff are the epitomy of respect. They have always treated my children as if they are part of their own family. I am very grateful for his orthodontic treatment for my children over the years and his continuing care for my daughter.
