Katrina Lueras-Collins, DDS was born in Texas and raised mainly in Carlsbad and Santa Rosa, NM. After graduating from Santa Rosa High School, Dr. Katrina then attended New Mexico Highlands University where she studied Biology. She continued her education at Creighton University in Omaha, NE where she continued to study biology and earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2006. While away from the office, Dr. Katrina enjoys spending time with her four boys, hunting, skiing, running and working out.

While in dental school both Drs. Ray and Katrina volunteered at One World Clinic at Creighton University where they donated as much treatment as could be done for two hours every Thursday for indigent patients. The Collins doctors returned to New Mexico in early 2006 after graduation. They worked at Divine Dental and The Mora Valley Health Clinic until August of 2007 when they opened their office in Santa Rosa named Deep Blue Dental. Then in August of 2008, Collins Dental was opened here in Las Vegas. They have commuted back and forth to service both communities since then.

Both Drs. Ray and Katrina are active in volunteering with the New Mexico Mission of Mercy (NM MOM) program. This event is held at least once a year in various parts of New Mexico and is designated to provide free dental care for the residents of New Mexico. The staff here at Collins Dental also volunteer at these events. Along with volunteering for NM MOM, the doctors also donate to donated dental services where they treat two patients in total per year with any treatment including cleanings, fillings, crowns, extractions, partials, and dentures.

Went in for a chipped tooth. They got me in the next Monday which I appreciated but the work was not worth the cost. They did not use enough numbing, did not check that I was numbed before starting work, did not check my bite to ensure there were no high spots, and did not check to see if I would still be able to floss. That last one I just discovered after waiting a week because of how much it's been hurting so now I need to get an appointment with a different dentist to get the filling fixed.

Went in because my local dentist referred me for sedation due to needing 5 teeth extracted and they didn't sedate me very much at all. The dentist was rude and on the last one I tried letting him know I was in pain he told me to shut up its just pressure and he kept going even though I was crying in extreme pain. He left part of 2 teeth behind and 2 days later im still in extreme pain and unable to eat anything that's not liquid.

Still not out of the woods yet, but I would like to thank Blue Hole Dental, Dr. Collins, and their technicians for acting quick while recognizing that I have serious tooth infection. Very professional, knowledgeable, and affordable. Thank you Gilda for expressing your concern and sympathy towards my recovery. Special thanks to Veronica for pointing out the severity of a septic infection, and for helping me see Dr. Collins a.s.a.p! Awesome clinic!

I have been to two (2) other dental places since I've moved here 4 years ago. The first place in Clovis, NM pulled one (1) tooth August of 2015 and treated me wrong. I went back after a year and still got treated wrong. The second place in Santa Rosa next door to the hospital or a school started working on my teeth and never completed, than 4 months after they closed the office down and left town. I was told a lot of very positive reviews from a friend of mine in Tucumcari. So I looked Deep Blue Dental up and called to make a appointment. I have no complaints about Deep Blue Dental at all, they treat me well and as they want to be treated
