Justin H. Deckard, D.M.D. graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree with majors in both Neuroscience and Religious Studies from the University of Miami. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA.
He graduated Summa Cum Laude and was the recipient of several awards including the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Dental Implant Student award, various merit scholarships, and was inducted into the prestigious national dental honor society: Omicron Kappa Upsilon.
Upon graduation, he continued his post-doctoral training in a General Practice Residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. He holds professional memberships with the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and the Academy of Osseointegration and is an alumnus of the Dawson Academy for Advanced Complete Care Dentistry.
Dr. Deckard provides comprehensive dental care with an emphasis on patient comfort, as well as keeping up-to-date with the latest advancements in dentistry to provide his patients with the best quality of care in the field. Dr. Deckard practices with a wide range of experience in different areas of dentistry with clinical interests in Aesthetic Dentistry, Implant Dentistry, Oral Medicine, and Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Balshaw is a graduate of the Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Balshaw completed a hospital-based residency at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. He has completed a level 4 Mastery course at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry specializing in computer-generated CAD-CAM restorative dentistry.
Sarah A. Deckard, DMD is an enthusiastic and compassionate general dentist who enjoys treating patients of all ages. Her priority has always been providing comprehensive, high-quality care to patients in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. As a patient and caring practitioner, she treats all of her patients with respect and consideration.
Dr. Deckard received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Tufts University and her Bachelors from the Honors College and College of Arts and Sciences at Adelphi University. During her studies, Dr. Deckard was awarded the Joseph R. Evans Award for the Most Distinguished Achievement in Clinical Operative Dentistry, the Tufts University Tiberi Scholarship, and the Pre-Dental Mascolo Award.
As an interested and inquisitive individual, she loves to further her knowledge through continuing education courses to provide her patients with the best quality of care in the field. Dr. Deckard is a member of both the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and the American Dental Association and is looking forward to her next meeting for some challenging and informative programs.
Away from the office, Dr. Deckard is an avid painter and prides herself on her Italian cooking skills. Originally from Long Island, New York, she really enjoys the great outdoors of Maryland and Virginia, swimming, and taking hikes with her husband.

The service and care they give is top notch! I've been going there for about 15 years and I've been very happy. Now that I'm a remote worker I've thought about finding a dentist closer to home. But why mess with something so good? It's worth the trip into DC!

Ive only ever had amazing experiences here, they are very communicative, nice, and gentle. Just had a cavity filled on friday and experienced ZERO discomfort and pain after. I highly highly recommend coming in!

Dr. Deckard's bedside manner is incredible, he should write books about it and teach others. He really listens and never dismisses any concerns. Any question I ask, no matter how silly, will be acknowledged as a "good question" and answered thoroughly. Also, I got my first cleaning with Amy today and she is truly amazing: very gentle and thorough, which is especially important for people like me who are wearing braces. The entire Dc Precision Dentistry team was beyond professional and caring. I received reminders about my appointment and they managed to work around my schedule. The dental hygienist did an amazing job and the dentist was very gentle and always asked if I was doing ok during the procedure. I highly recommend them.

So. I started a new job last week and found out I won't have dental benefits when I first start. My benefits from my old job expire today so I needed a cleaning because I didn't want to wait any additional time to get one. My regular hygienist is on vacation so Dr. Deckard agreed to do my cleaning. Now I have had my teeth cleaned by dentists in the past and, they were not very good. They can do root canals, crowns and other complicated things, but not cleanings. Well Dr Deckard was amazing. I knew from the first minute he started cleaning my teeth that he was going to do a fantastic job. My teeth feel amazing. Thanks Dr. Deckard and not only are you the best, but you have the best staff working for you as well. I will continue sending referrals.

Temporary denture provided fits perfectly and looks as natural as real tooth. Dr. has been highly knowledgeable, friendly and professional and the same should be said for the whole office staff. After more than 20 years visiting this office I am very satisfied with the punctuality and reliable services provided by Dr Decker and his staff.

Great dentist! Very conscientious and methodical, and very reassuring. Doesn't do unnecessary dental work, but makes sure everything that needs to be addressed is properly addressed. Good music too--no annoying elevator music. Small practice feels great.

Dr Deckard is so fabulous. I have been going to this dental office for over 20 years. In fact Dr. Balshaw with my original Dentist, he has since moved on I was a little apprehensive at first about working with a new dentist. But, I just love him. The staff is amazing. WONDERFUL PRACTICE!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Such a personal, professional, and caring team! I have been going to DC Precision Dentistry for 8+ years. Prior to using them, I had a horrible time at dentists - and never wanted to go. I shared this with Dr. Deckard and the staff and they took extra care/attention to ensure that I am always comfortable and understand the different procedures. When you enter the door you are greeted by a wonderful front desk team, who work diligently to ensure that you are cared for. You are brought to the back where all of the hygienists are excellent and caring. Dr. Deckard has been wonderful from checking my teeth, filling cavities, and even my Invisalign process! I would highly recommend this practice for any dental need - Dr. Deckard and his team get continuing education and are always up-to-date on all the latest and greatest ways to make you comfortable. They have very reasonable prices. If you do not have insurance, ask about their smile club - which is a low cost way to make sure you are getting cleanings twice a year. I have always felt like I am more than a patient and now like going to the dentist to get to talk with the entire team there!

I have been coming to DC Precision Dentistry for the past year and this is a wonderful practice! Dr. Deckard and his team are professional, courteous, knowledgeable, efficient, and kind. I've had both Amy and Tomas as my hygienists and always look forward to seeing them. And Tyrone at the front desk is always a pleasure! Billing in particular has always been smooth and stress-free, unlike other dental practices I've been to in the past. One of the best things I can say about Dr. Deckard is that he is very patient. I tend to be anxious (who isn't when going to the dentist?) but he helps calm me by explaining procedures carefully, checking in with me, and presenting me with clear options. Great bedside manner! I would recommend this practice to anyone looking for a stress-free dental experience.
