Dayton Pediatric Dentistry - Pediatric dentist in Dayton, OH

Dr. Kyle Hensley (Dr. Kyle) grew up locally in Southwestern Ohio area. He decided to become a pediatric dentist because of his own childhood experience with a pediatric dentist. As a child, Dr. Kylesdentist captured his heart with his fun, compassionate personality and his knack for jokes. This inspired Dr. Kyle to pursue his own dream of dentistry which landed him at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. Go Bucks!

Dr. Kyle loves his career and looks forward to working with kids each day. He even has a special set of dental vocabulary for his younger patients so that it is easy for younger patients to understand! Dr. Kyle makes sure that he takes the time to speak with each of his patients and ensures that they leave with the knowledge to prevent future dental problems.

by Madison Barnett on 09/22/2022 Review for DaytonPediatric Dentistry I have an autistic daughter and Dr Hensley worked with her gently over time to get her used to going to the dentist, it used to be so hard to get into her mouth to brush her teeth now she lets us as well as brushing herself! Dayton pediatric Dentistry is awesome I would definitely recommend!

This is the most disfunctional office I've ever been. Christen ( office manager) is rude. I stood at the check in window for seven minutes while she FaceTime someone. Then gets rude with me because apparently my granddaughter's appointment was on Monday. But they wrote Wednesday on my card. This is after she had oral surgery. Three caps on. Two are out. And she has a toothache under the other one. First appointment the dentist called in. R.two trips too Dayton to be told she can't be seen. Do not and I repeat DO NOT go to this sorry excuse for an office...

I've been bringing my kiddos here for the past 15 years and have always saw Dr Kyle (amazing man) now we've been forced to see Dr AL due to Dr Kyle not being available. All 3 of my kids (different ages) come out looking mortified after dealing with Dr AL. I went in today with my 18 year old for a filling and omg Dr AL is cold, Rude and has NO BUSINESS working with peds. Get that man out of this practice. My daughter was in tears as we were checking out. I could hear Dr AL being even more rude to this young boy who was crying and scared. Just terrible.

Something just told me to " go and check the reviews" it is so very clear. The receptionist is horrible and rude with no clarity. Before slamming the phone in my ear she told me to " find a new office" .This happened about 10 mins ago after finally getting through the line . About to call the operater or who ever else I can just to be sure they know how this horrible receptionist is running the phone lines

Worst experience ever. I have custody of my nephews from the state. I received a referall to this office for surgery for my nephew in Feb. I called weekly to set up appointment left voicemails to get nothing in return. I finally get an appointment scheduled for his now dead tooth and get there today with everything I was told to bring. Because his insurance card is not the newest card that was printed (i have one from cps) they will not see him. They were able to pull up his eligibilty paper and printed it but told me they could only use the real card. I asked to see the policy stating that and was told no. I asked to speak with manager and was told she was Manager. Her name was Jasmine. When i asked to speak with family advocate I was told they were a private company and would not be seeing him. Do not go to this dentist if you expect them to care about the health of a 4 year old.

Have been going their for 10years my son use to have very bad anxiety when it comes to the dentist but since we switched to DPD it has went away! The fact that the faces in the office have stay the same the dentist's talked about sports with him and just watching his boy of mine be excited to go to the dentist it amazing.. I think this place gets a bad rap for the policies for cancellation no-shows etc. they give you these rules to hold you up to coming on time if you don't show it could have been a appointment for someone else to be seen. I understand you kid wakes up sick you call to cancel and the phones are hard to get someone in person to speak to. But we haven't had issues with surgery scheduling, canceling appointments rescheduling no issues in the house haven't came across any rude staffing and don't plan of changing dentist into they age out. I would recommend them to anyone especially if you child has anxiety about the dentist or needs surgery it's all don't at Dayton childrens!

This office is great. So far I've no complaints. They're very patient and work with your child's limitations. We've been going here since my son was 3 and he is autistic. Idk what some of the other parents are saying about not taking nuerodiverse kids under 5 but that's not true.

Dayton pediatric dentistry is awesome. I love the professionalism especially Jasmine the receptionist couldn't ask for a awesome person to encounter. The staff at Dayton Pediatric was super good to my grandbabies. Two of grandbabies wanted to get there teeth cleaned so bad mind you they didn't have a scheduled appt but Jasmine made it happen for my babies to be seen that same day. I can't leave out the whole staff they have always been professional, kind, and has always provided quality care. My experience has always been 5 stars. Thank you Dayton Pediatric Dentistry keep up the awesome quality of care for the kids.

This place deserve 0 stars. My daughter has been dealing with facial swelling, infection in her mouth, along with an abscess since January 2021. I have had been admitted into the hospital 3 separate times due to this issue, along with countless doctors apt. Have had 3 ASAP referrals sent in, that I had ENT call and confirm they received. Left dozen of voicemails and not a single word back. She has officially lost 1 front tooth that is still rotting away in her gums and her other front tooth working it's way to rotting as well. We just got released from the hospital yet again and despite every doctor telling them it needs out. They wouldn't even bother to come and look at her mouth. She is autistic , on high priority cancel list, refuses to eat, and wouldn't drink. Yet, they are perfectly okay with allowing my baby to feel like that.

I worry about the other reviews as I've not had those experiences yet. But soon far, everyone has been kind and patient with me and my children. I don't have issues with the phone as I schedule all appointments in person at the end of each appointment so I don't have to worry about it later (not because of the phones). There is a bit of a waiting time when you arrive for your appointment, but I assume it's because it can be hard to get children to corporate through a dental appointment and therefore there's a lag. If anything changes, of course I'll post here. But so far, if taken with patience and understanding, this establishment and it's staff are great!

A month after my son's initial appointment, have still not heard from the office to schedule his surgery. I've called twice in the past week. Talked to a lady last week in the scheduling department, told me she had left a note on another workers desk and she would be calling me back. Called a week later during business hours and got an answering machine. Left a message and have still not heard back from the office.

They seriously need to get their scheduling process in order. Who waits 30 days to simply SCHEDULE appointments? Like do they not have access to their schedules??

I'm not sure of who runs things over there, but the office management absolutely is terrible. I basically had to wait 2 months and call them myself, wait on hold for about 40 minutes collectively, all for them to tell me that they would not see my daughter because our family was dismissed 10 years ago. Don't bother with them.

It's a shame there is so many issues with the office because Dr Hensley is great. Our son is autistic and has to be sedated to have dental work done. In the years we've been going, trying to get an appointment scheduled is nearly impossible at times. They don't answer the phone or don't call back.

I wish I could give zero stars. Two years ago, my kids missed an 9 AM appt because I woke up puking and they threatened to kick them out and charged a fee for each child. I guess I should have gone into a Children's hospital while super sick? The following year (2020) my kids weren't seen due to Covid and I finally got them appointments made about six weeks ago. Well today was the appointment day and I found out last week that my oldest has state testing in school today but I tried everything in my power to not have to reschedule because they haven't seen a dentist in over two years...so I pulled her out of state testing (my son also had an appt) and drove all the way to the office and as I'm pulling in they called me to tell me the dentist was not in today and I would have to reschedule. How do you not know until 10 minutes before the appt that the dentist wasn't even scheduled to be in the office that day?

So mad! I previously had to cancel a few appointments but the last one was because me and my child were exposed to covid and I didn't want to spread it. I called to let them know this and was put on hold for ages then I left them a message which was never returned. Later in the week I got a letter saying they dismissed my child because of a missed appointment and every time I called I couldn't get through. I finally got them in the phone and they say they don't care about covid reasoning and it still counts as missed. A few days later I got my official letter saying I was positive so they would have rather us have gone in there and turned the dentist into a super spreader event?!?! Really people??? What it comes down to is their dismissal policy is idiotic and they need better people to work their phones and try actually calling people back...!!!

The reviews should speak for themselves. I've been going here for years but unfortunately they have always been rude. The actual doctors are very nice and helpful the people on the phone and the receptionist are never helpful and very rude. I have called except for one time to reschedule an appointment and this last time they said that my daughter was dismissed because she was a no-show which is completely untrue. How can you dismiss a patient that desperately needs a crown at five years old? I went to this dentist as a child almost 20 years ago and have watched it go downhill. They are standing on the children's hospital name alone but do not reflect any of the values that the hospital does. I highly recommend choosing somewhere else, it will be a waste of your time to go here. I wish I could Leave no stars honestly and I love Being able to leave nice reviews for my Dayton business. It's a shame
