Orthodontics is the area of dentistry concerned with the supervision, guidance and correction of the dentofacial structures. Orthodontic treatment uses braces, retainers and other appliances to correct any dentofacial abnormalities. Regular dental check-ups and orthodontic treatment are proven to be effective tools in helping establish and maintain good oral health for people of all ages.
An orthodontist is a specially trained dentist who has attended an advanced education program for a continual training period of 2 to 3 years. All members of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) have received the appropriate training.
Its never too late to have a beautiful smile! Adults should visit an orthodontist to improve the appearance of their smile and their overall dental health at any time. Some orthodontic corrections need to be made as early as 3 to 5 years of age, but ordinarily children should visit an orthodontist at the time permanent teeth begin to erupt in order to detect any deficiencies in the childs teeth formation. This is usually between 7 and 10 years of age. The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children visit an orthodontist no later than age 7.
Braces may be worn by both children and adults, not only to improve the attractiveness of their smile, but also because braces correct improper alignment of teeth that can lead to gum disease and early tooth loss. Left untreated, crooked teeth with irregular spacing make cleaning harder and allow cavities to more easily develop. Properly aligned teeth also make it easier to chew all types of food, and eliminate the headaches and pain caused by uneven chewing. Uneven teeth may result in weak enamel, gum problems and jaw misalignment.
Braces are lighter, more comfortable and more technologically advanced today than ever before. They come in clear and a variety of color and material choices. Ask the office staff about what options are available. Other appliances include colorful bands, elastics and retainers.
Braces exert a gentle pressure on teeth over time to straighten them. The two main components include the braces placed on the teeth and the arch wire that connects them. The brace is a specially-shaped metal or ceramic affixed to each tooth and the arch wire is bent to reflect the bite that the patient should have after treatment. The wire threads through the braces. As the wire tries to return to its original shape, it applies pressure to move the teeth.
There have been some fantastic advances in modern orthodontics to make treatment more comfortable and quicker for patients. There are now smaller, smoother braces and gentler wires which provide a continuous small force over a long period of time rather than a strong force for only a short period. Typically there is some discomfort after the braces are first put on. Over the counter pain relievers and a soft foods diet will help alleviate this temporary discomfort.

My child had her braces for more than 2years and the results are not good at all. They also have the worst customer service, so I can't even call and ask why it came out the way it looks. I am not sure what to do now.

Dr. Davis is excellent at what she does. She always greats you with a beautiful smile. Her staff is friendly and kind. Dr. Davis standard is high when it comes to pleasing her patients. Today my braces was removed and she gave me the best gift, which was a goodie bag full of treats I was unable to eat while I was in my braces. If you need anything ask Opehila she tries her best to get the job done! I'm very pleased with my results!

I am so over this dentist office after my visit today. I had a younger girl name Dulisha. She made me feel so uncomfortable. She was talking about completely irrelevant things about how she was partying the night before work and everything she was doing which made me feel so uncomfortable. She wreaked of the smell of weed to the point I left with a headache. She was spaced out and yelling at different people passing through the halls. She seemed so out of it and I was so uncomfortable. I am definitely going to another orthodontist office after this and finishing my braces somewhere else.

I came to Dr. Davis office in February of 2020. I already had braces on done by another Orthodonist. I wanted them off because I was over it. Dr. Davis convinced me to continue my treatment, she told me I didn't have long maybe about 7months to go. So I agreed and went on ahead and started back my treatments. Then COVID happened, and everything got pushed back to later dates. Here we are now in June 2021 and today I finally gotten my braces off. Dr.Davis gave me a gift bag as thank you gift. Her and her staff are always very pleasant,..the office is nice and clean. In the waiting area and in the theater waiting area there is always a movie on while you wait! I'm going to be sending my daughter soon to begin her braces. I also highly recommend this office to anyone that's looking for good quality Ortho care!!!

Sometimes cheaper is not alway better! The $109 a month works if your not in a position to pay everything up front but trust and believe the headaches and unprofessionalism that comes with that option. There are also hidden charges and fees that come with every visit. Some of the staff are very nasty, rude and very unprofessional. The positive things about this location are the cleanliness and the reception/account manager Ms. Ofeelua(I'm sure that's not the correct spelling) she's very knowledgeable, patient, professional and has a sweet personality and spirit.

I didn't even want braces in the beginning, or the middle, but Dr. Davis and her staff are incredibly courteous and hospitable to my little sister and I. I was always excited to go in for a checkup. The arrangement and decor creates a warm welcome and the movie theater keeps all patients occupied while the staff works to get each and every patient in and out as fast as possible. All the technicians are very skilled and friendly. They all have so much personality, I felt like I was visiting relatives every time I went in for my appointments. Even when I needed to go to school far away from home, they checked on my treatment and created a flexible plan that worked for me and ensured that I still got quality results. In the end, I must say it was worth it and it was a great journey. If anyone is reluctant about braces or wants that smile they've been dreaming about, I would suggest you meet with this fabulous team. They'll put a huge smile on your face!

This dental office staff is great , we have been a patient for two years. Dr. Davis has been wonderful always pleasant and with a smile. The front desk staff Ms. Ophelia has been so easy to work with. It was time for my son braces to come off and there was no opening for months out , she worked late to find him an appointment and squeezed him in so that he would get his braces off before going off to college... THANKS for the wonderful treatment and services.

Horrible Orthodontic Care and service, great customer greetings. The atmosphere is pleasant. They charge outstanding upfront fees. I had to terminate my contract with this office. My son braces were falling out for no fault of his own and they still want me to pay for the contract. Only had his braces for 1 day and after they clipped the bottom wires, the top wires popped out.
