Orthodontics is the area of dentistry concerned with the supervision, guidance and correction of the dentofacial structures. Orthodontic treatment uses braces, retainers and other appliances to correct any dentofacial abnormalities. Regular dental check-ups and orthodontic treatment are proven to be effective tools in helping establish and maintain good oral health for people of all ages.
An orthodontist is a specially trained dentist who has attended an advanced education program for a continual training period of 2 to 3 years. All members of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) have received the appropriate training.
Its never too late to have a beautiful smile! Adults should visit an orthodontist to improve the appearance of their smile and their overall dental health at any time. Some orthodontic corrections need to be made as early as 3 to 5 years of age, but ordinarily children should visit an orthodontist at the time permanent teeth begin to erupt in order to detect any deficiencies in the childs teeth formation. This is usually between 7 and 10 years of age. The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children visit an orthodontist no later than age 7.
Braces may be worn by both children and adults, not only to improve the attractiveness of their smile, but also because braces correct improper alignment of teeth that can lead to gum disease and early tooth loss. Left untreated, crooked teeth with irregular spacing make cleaning harder and allow cavities to more easily develop. Properly aligned teeth also make it easier to chew all types of food, and eliminate the headaches and pain caused by uneven chewing. Uneven teeth may result in weak enamel, gum problems and jaw misalignment.
Braces are lighter, more comfortable and more technologically advanced today than ever before. They come in clear and a variety of color and material choices. Ask the office staff about what options are available. Other appliances include colorful bands, elastics and retainers.
Braces exert a gentle pressure on teeth over time to straighten them. The two main components include the braces placed on the teeth and the arch wire that connects them. The brace is a specially-shaped metal or ceramic affixed to each tooth and the arch wire is bent to reflect the bite that the patient should have after treatment. The wire threads through the braces. As the wire tries to return to its original shape, it applies pressure to move the teeth.
There have been some fantastic advances in modern orthodontics to make treatment more comfortable and quicker for patients. There are now smaller, smoother braces and gentler wires which provide a continuous small force over a long period of time rather than a strong force for only a short period. Typically there is some discomfort after the braces are first put on. Over the counter pain relievers and a soft foods diet will help alleviate this temporary discomfort.

First, the wait time is ridiculous; she has too many patients. My treatment was for 1.5 years. She said I had a minor overbite at the consultation but never gave me elastics to fix my bite. I would ask her about my bite, and she'd say, " we're not at that part of treatment yet," and then towards the end of treatment, she said, "oh, you don't need elastics anymore," so apparently my overbite magically fixed itself. Throughout my treatment, 3 brackets popped off, and she replaced NONE; she'd say " it doesn't affect treatment" or "they're not essential." At the end of treatment, there were still small spaces between my top teeth, but she said my retainers would finish closing them (so what's the point of braces?). The bottom retainers(metal) were poorly made, which unstraightened my bottom teeth. I had to get braces again at a different ortho, and they're actually treating my overbite :) This was back in 2020, but I now have the energy to complain.

I just finished my treatment today My over all experience here was good all the staff are friendly and you have genuine conversations with most of them. I'm definitely going to miss them. The only down side is the waiting time it's long but they have you watching a movie in a theater so it's really not that bad.

Dr. Davis and her staff are heaven sent! I've been in braces for close to 2 years, and today 8/9/21 I GOT THEM OFF! I love my new smile so much and I wouldn't be here without the work of Dr. Davis. She always made me feel so important to her; with the compliments, asking how my son is doing and so much more. If anyone is in need of braces please go see her, she will not disappoint. 10/10! Dr. Davis have a wonderful roster of staffs that provides exceptional care to her patients and I. Been coming for the past 5 years and Stephanie, Angie, and Melissa has always been there for every single visit to create a merry atmosphere especially around the holiday season. A 180 degree transformation since I've started treatment at the Morrow location, the compliments on my jawline kept on coming and I am very grateful for Dr. Davis and her staff.

They supposed to give you a discount but at the end of the treatment they said you need to came back because this because that they charge extra more for the patients that they give the discount very disappointed

THE WORST SERVICE I have received in a dentist, they treat me badly today I was late after driving 1 hour and they tell me to arrive 17 minutes late and they cannot attend to me that lack of respect is waiting for you everywhere, they always answer you as if they are angry to work the worst NOBODY GOES THERE
