Doctor Simonsen was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He moved to San Jose, California at a young age. After high school heattended UC Santa Barbara where he received a degree in biological sciences. He then enrolled at The Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC. He graduated in 1984 and has been practicing in Pacific Grove ever since. Dr. Simonsen is married to local podiatrist Dr. Anne Marangoni.They havethree children; twin daughters and a son. In the wintertime you can find Dr. Simonsen on the slopes of Northstar in Lake Tahoe. He also enjoys kayaking, golfing, camping, and traveling.
Bekah is a Monterey native. She lives in Prunedale with her 3 dogs; Apollo, Wilson and Willow. She enjoys watching movies, going to the beach and spending time with her family. She also loves cars. You might just see her cruising highway 68 in her mustang!
Renee was born and raisedin Sonora, a small town in the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas. She graduated from the University of the Pacific in Stockton in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. She enjoys traveling with her husband and playing with her dog, Kona. Renee is a Disney enthusiast, and travels to the happiest place on earth often. She also enjoys running, reading, and boating.
Tracy grew up in the small coastal town of Manzanita, Oregon. She graduated from the University of Oregon. After several years on the east coast she relocated to Monterey.She loves biking and going to the beach. She also enjoys reading, watching movies, playing volleyball and traveling.Tracy is a Harry Potter fanatic and has been to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter six times!
Michelle was born in Salinas, California.She grew up in Sonora, California. She graduated from the dental assisting program at Monterey Peninsula College. She enjoys discovering new places and exploring the outdoors with her son. Her favorite movie is the Nightmare Before Christmas.

Dr Simonsen is a dental detective....his exams are focused, thorough and well explained. He provides treatment options supporting informed decisions regarding care. Comfort and long term dental health are at the root (-: of treatment. Staff are skilled, knowledgeable and very supportive.

The dental assistants and hygienists were great. The dentist was okay until I needed a crown. About a year later I had to have the crown redone because it was moving ( done by a different dentist). The damage to the tooth seemed to be done and I ended up with a root canal on the same tooth with a another provider. Regular check ups were fine with this provider, but I'd recommend going elsewhere for more in depth treatment.

Very professional the crew is outstanding. I would recommend anybody to go see David he did a complete turnaround of my teeth very affordable everyone said what a beautiful smile . the price was outstanding!!! The man knows what he's doing. Very friendly and courteous. Although he doesn't know anything about basketball I told him the Knicks in 4 . So I have New York Knicks and 4 but I wonder why the tickets are in 2029? It's a joke is a joke between me and David you have to ask him when you see him. All kidding aside he did an excellent job on my teeth I'd give him a five-star. Yankees to the world series!!! On a scale 1 to 10 . I give David 11.

I have had very good care from Dr. Simonsen. My 6 mo. check up and cleaning is always so gentle but very effective, I feel asleep twice and my teeth really need cleaning. Everyone is very friendly and nice very good care.

Very happy to share my positive experience at Dr. Simonsen's office. This was my first visit with more to follow, so it's likely I'll increase the stars to five. Today was mostly an exam with discussion of work to be done and some minor repairs. Felt very simpatico with the doctor and his staff, felt I was listened to and my concerns appreciated. Feel we have a good plan for going forward, and I'm looking forward to my next visit.

I came in here a year ago to get a crown, he said it was on the verge of being a root canal. He also said that he could do either a giant filling or crown, which seemed a bit strange at the time. A doctor should tell me what I need, not ask how much I want to pay. I ended up choosing a crown, but not getting a root canal. He honestly did a terrible job. The next day there was sensitivity, and it has persisted for a year, until this day. Im confident now I need a root canal and I wish he hadn't wasted $1000 of mine helping me figure that out. Along with the sensitivity, the edge of the tooth is not smooth, and the technology they use is outdated. There is a horizontal ridge near the top of my tooth that I can feel, and is painful to touch, where he connected my old tooth to the crown. The tech is outdated because he did not send a mold of my tooth off to fabricate the crown. Basically they(better dentists) use a computer to make a super accurate replica of your original tooth. Whereas this guy just was winging it by hand. I hate to write harmful reviews like this, but at the same time it's well deserved, and I can't afford to redo my dental work.

Everyone at their office is amazing and so nice to work with! I couldn't have asked for a better dentist during my time here in Monterey. I've been to several in the past, and Dr. Simonson and his team are by far the best and most easy going when it comes to having any dental work done. I've tried out other dentists in the Monterey area and couldn't find any receptionist or dentist that was worth my time or money. The only downfall is that they are not a preferred provider for me. But believe me, I'd rather pay more by a team of people who truly care and ones I can trust and walk away feeling happy to return for my next visit.
