Dr. David Shannon, Northridge CA dentist,has studied and refined his skills for over thirty years. His extensive continuing education includes study in the areas of veneers, metal free porcelain crowns as well as partial crowns, implants, TMJ therapy, Zoom whitening procedures, laser tooth whitening for sensitive teeth, non surgical gum disease treatments including Perio Protect, laser dental procedures, preventive care, invisible orthodontics, root canal therapy, oral sedation, dental hypnosis, and pediatric dentistry.
Dr Shannon has made a commitment to his community for over thirty years by serving both his patients and local causes. He has an annual feed the hungry program which collects both food and money for those in need. He collects Halloween candy during the first week in November to support the troops through the USO. He also gives money to those children willing to turn in their extra candy.
Christmas is his toy collection time, where toys are distributed to families who would otherwise go without. He has two or three free emergency dentistry days annually for those who have lost jobs and insurance and have no where to turn. His Do a Good Deed contest for children highlights all the good deeds done by our children during the year and one child receives a free computer for their selfless efforts to make this a better world.

The health of your teeth, gums, soft tissues, bite, TMJ, muscle balance, and kenesiology testing is included.
Cleanings, sealants, digital xrays and digital photographs are all part of your evaluation.You medical history can help us stay informed of your overall health, new medications or conditions which effect your dental status can be discussed.
Your dental health has an impact on keeping your overall health in proper balance.The bacteria in plaque is the same bacteria as the plaque in heart disease, liver disease, kidney disease, and pancreatic cancer.These connections need to be addressed over the years if dental neglect is beginning to take its place in a patients health history.
We follow health and safety standards set by the ADA (American Dental Association), CDA (California Dental Association), HIPPA, CAL-OSHA, and the CDC (Center for Disease Control). This provides maximum safety for all of our patients as well as ourselves. Continuing education courses in these areas are taken regularly to keep up with any new recommendations as well as changes set through the California licensing board.
We seek to build trust with each of our patients that can come only with time. I was Looking for a new dental office and stumbled across Fuller Smiles in Northridge, I couldn't be happier. The ladies at the front desk were so sweet...thank u Lisa and Araceli. Sarah, the hygienist, was absolutely amazing, super sweet and gentle. Dr. Matt was kind with his words and made me feel super comfortable. 10/10

I went there on 5/24/22 for a teeth cleaning. I had called the day before and I was told they had an opening so I scheduled a time to go in. I mentioned that I had a postcard from Dr. Shannon, which I'd been getting forever, and they said they could fit me in. I show up and to my surprise it's no longer Dr. Shannon's office. He apparently retired the week prior. The staff didn't mention that over the phone. The new dentists seem to be ok. I had my cleaning and a few "fillings" and they waived my portion of the additional costs. That was nice. I was also told to come back for a Zoom whitening - I don't really need it as I have naturally white teeth but heck, it's being offered and why not? I mentioned to them that I'd also like to get braces on my lower teeth as they had been shifting. They were happy to submit a preauthorization to my insurance. I have no issue with that although we had already discussed how much they would cover for Orthodontia. The staff mentioned that they'd be scheduling the Zoom whitening patients starting June 9th. I said ok, put me on the list. Today is June 14th and I have not heard a word from anyone at that office at all. No follow-up from my previous appointment about the preauthorization for the Orthodontia, no call to schedule me for the whitening, not a darn call. They really made me feel great about changing my dentist to this office but now...I'm having 2nd thoughts. I'm certain they'll see this post and pretty sure someone will call me this week...at least I hope they do. If not, well that will tell me what type of office it is. I'll update my post once I hear from them. PS the building itself is very outdated. The restrooms are outside in another part of the complex and they too are very dated.

Dr. Shannon said that I needed two crowns and insurance would pay. My share was $950.00 I paid, he did the work and his office botched the insurance filing. After several appeals the insurance company did not pay and I had to pay the other half. The office staff gets a -5 stars and Dr. Shannon gets -3 stars. I will not be back. Even though he has now retired I wouldn't go near that office for dental work for my dogs teeth.

I feel so lucky to have selected this dentist from my work insurance benefits website! I spent awhile researching dentists in my area and changed my choice a few times. I got Dr. Shannon's advertisement in the mail several times and was surprised to find him listed in my benefits network. I thought, OK, let's pick this dentist! It had been over 6 years since I had been to the dentist (my past dentist is in Thousand Oaks & did not want to drive that far after work). What a fantastic experience at Dr. Shannon's office that I had in August 2021! Great staff, so friendly & helpful! They did a cleaning, x-rays and an exam. I was so amazed to find out that Dr. Shannon knew my orthodontist from when I had braces at 11-13 yrs old (a very, very long time ago). Once I heard that, I felt like this was meant to be, I picked the best dentist! I just went back for my 6 month cleaning and again, a wonderful office experience. After years of neglect, I had horrible teeth until a friend recommended Dr. Shannon. He was amazingly non judgement and gentle and helped find a good payment option and I now have a glorious new smile. 10/10 highly recommend Dr. Shannon and his excellent staff!

Amazing attention to detail & you feel comfort from the moment you walk in the office... you are welcomed by the friendly receptionist. Staff is amazingly friendly. Dr.Shannon was wonderful, experienced and knowledgeable... He knows what he's doing he was caring and took the time to go over the treatment plan, explaining each process, can't ask for anything better than that. My dental hygienist Sarah was fantastic, she was knowledgeable and took her time to explain everything to me in detail, you could definitely see how she loves what she is doing and how she cares for her patients... She provided recommendation and tips which I greatly appreciated. I would recommend this office to all who are looking for a "caring', friendly dental setting. It seemed too good to be true for me too, till I went and tried it myself.

This place is awesome. everyone is helpful and friendly. I needed some extractions and they were able to book me pretty quickly. I was done in no time and had less pain than I've felt with other extractions. Great experience!

Most honest, caring, amusing Place to be.. especially if you have anxiety or phobia of going to the dentist. Dr. Shannon make sure you feel comfortable and relaxed.. and you should know the quality of work is off the charts. The hygienist are very gentle and sufficient and are very caring to the health of your teeth and gums. If your looking for a Dentist office, this place has it all.

Going to Dr. Shannon is always a good experience. No matter if the news is good or bad Dr.Shannon faces it head on and with honesty and skill. He puts the patient's health first and not the bottom line. The dental hygienists do a very good job. The office is also very welcoming

Dr. Shannon is amazing. Before I went to him I visited other dental offices to get a consultation for orthodontist work (Invisalign treatment). Dr. Shannon offers great prices, but what convinced me was his professionalisms, how knowledgeable, kind, he made me feel like I was home. My first visit was a YES! I trusted him with my orthodontist care from the minute I met him. I would highly recommend him to my love ones. I will be taking my children to him when the time comes for dental/orthodontist work. Great dentist in the Nortridge area. Thank you Dr. Shannon.

Real review. Just finished my second root canal with Dr. Shannon and what a pleasure. No really, I didn't even feel the numbing process. This gentleman also has great character, it's so hard not to laugh as he preforms the procedure. I'm always given a warm welcome by his lovely staff and especially Kathy, his caring assistant. I don't like going to the dentist, but I love their company and the professional work of Dr. Shannon. Don't believe me? Go check them out and be happy with that new smile received!

I started seeing David Shannon, DDS a couple of years ago and am so happy that I made the switch over to him. Besides the fact that his office is within minutes of my house, he one of the best dentists I've been to over the years. Kind, funny and caring. As an individual who has severe anxieties regarding dentists, I was not prepared for my experience with Dr. Shannon. His professional and compassionate demeanor immediately put my fears to rest. He listened to my concerns and offered me explanations that were concise and articulate. Dr. Shannon's Office and He himself delivers! I was looking for a clinic who can give me a good price for retainers and this is the one. Natalie and the other ladies at the front desk were really friendly and helpful. Dr. Shannon was very knowledgable on the retainers they offer and went through it with detail. He took my impressions pretty quick and unlike other dental offices I've been to, He will make time for you and not be dealing with several patients simultaneously. My overall experience was amazing and they will really take care of you!

I have always been afraid of dentist. I'm so embarrassed to say how long it's been since my last visit. My past experiences have been horrifying, from dentist who did not want to wear gloves to those who ordered bigger crown than needed. The reign of fear is over now. Thanks to Doctor Shannon and his extremely nice staff put my worries at ease. They are very clean, nice and patient with me. That didn't make me feel bad for not seeing a dentist in such a long time. They took the time to explain everything about what needed to be done and we made a plan to work with my insurance and payments. Thank you Dr Shannon and staff!!!

Dr. Shannon is probably the best dentist I have been to. Just got my root canal done and I didn't feel a thing, not even the injection.
