Dr. Kao is a dental specialist in Periodontics and Dental Implants. He received his degree in dentistry from UCLA in 2004 and completed his postdoctoral education in Periodontology at the University of Connecticut in 2007. He is a board certified Periodontist and is also a faculty member at the UCLA School of Dentistry. As a participant of Help the Children, a humanitarian relief organization, Dr. Kao periodically offers dental services to underserved communities.
Periodontics is the specialty of dentistry which encompasses the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the supporting and surrounding tissues of the teeth or their substitutes and the maintenance of the health, function and esthetics of these structures and tissues. Dr. Kao has achieved the highest honor in the field of Periodontology: Board certification by the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Kao bases his treatments on well accepted research findings, ensuring sound judgment for your dental care. Dr. Kao completed specialty training in Periodontology and Dental Implants at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. He has practiced as Periodontist since 2007. Currently he sees patients both in his practice in Downtown Los Angeles and as a specialist in multiple dental practices in Southern California. He works with several General Dentists, providing special dental care to their patients.

I am a patient of Dr. Kao. I first had my two molars extracted a week ago. I plan to have implants done with Dr. David Kao too. I felt that to have tooth extraction, bone graft and root implant with Dr. Kao, I will be safe and in good hands, since he had extracted my teeth and did bone graft last week; I am healing perfectly. Yesterday I went to this office to accompany my husband for his appointment because it was the first time we were going there and I am a retired periodontist. I met Dr David and I had a great first impression about all the aspects of this place: Cleanliness, punctuality, friendliness, professionalism. My husband had a fabulous experience being treated by the hygienist named Joy. I can professionally see that she did a perfect job. I'm very happy that I found this office for future treatments.

I was not looking forward to having a tooth extracted--first time since my braces, very long ago. With Dr. Kao and his team it was literally a painless experience, even in the days afterward. I still don't know how that was possible! Plus, they kept me informed of the whole process. I can't imagine a better extraction experience.

Dr Kao and his staff are the best at what they do. The staff is very friendly, approachable, and efficient (especially Debbie). The office itself is a pristine environment and the staff is very diligent in keeping Covid protocols. Doctor Kao himself is professional, very approachable, knowledgeable, and he takes the time to discuss the particulars of your dental care in a way that is not judgmental, but encouraging. Joy is the best dental hygienist in town hands down!

After a month of horrific pain from a terrible root canal and crown treatment by my dentist, I was referred to Dr. Kao and Dr. Chen by some trusted family members. They called me back immediately and got me in the same day. Dr. Kao examined me, and it was determined that I had an infection under my root canal. I scheduled an extraction for the very next day and when I enter their office I knew I was in the absolute best hands possible. Dr. Chen extracted my tooth so gently and made me feel comfortable and confident that everything was being done right from the moment he started. I'm so grateful from the bottom of my heart for these doctors and their practice. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. Thank you Dr Kao and Dr Chen!

I highly recommend Dr. Kao and his team!! I'm always nervous of dentist visits but Dr. Kao's professionalism and knowledge made me feel comfortable from day one. Had the pleasure of Joy being my hygienist and I will not go anywhere else! The front desk ladies are always so sweet and everyone is personable. You guys rock Dr. Kao!!!

My mom visits this Dr for periodontic cleanings recently she's seen better customer service, she appreciates staff efforts in communicating with her in Spanish and the Dr is very patient and thorough in completing exam, highly recommends him.

started there to take care of my Dental problems. David Kao was very patient and informed me of what exactly would take place. He answered all of my questions in a positive and helpful way. I felt very comfortable with him. Months later the work has been done and the results are excellent. Have a new denture that's been adjusted and fits comfortably and securely. They look great and the mechanics that are used in the denture to hold it in place really do work well. I'm able to eat again comfortably. I do it again with David Kao great job.
