I want to share the exciting news that I am retiring this year. Thank you so much for your love and support over the last 38 years of practicing. I have formed so many wonderful relationships. I will surely miss seeing you on a regular basis after all of these years. It has truly been my pleasure to know, treat and help you all. The best part of dentistry is the interaction with everyone, both patients and staff. I consider myself very lucky to have come into contact with so many wonderful people.

Last year was a very difficult time for all. After several back operations and the changing state of practicing dentistry, I decided it was time to pass the reins over to my very talented and capable son, Dr. Dave, whom Im very proud of. He has been taking good care of so many of you already and has promised to continue to do so. I am looking forward to more time for my hobbies. I will be FISHING, painting, woodworking, grand parenting and FISHING (not a mistake).

Fantastic place! Moved from CO to PA and needed a new family dentist. Father and son are great, the staff is kind (and funny). I have great fears of having my face and mouth touched (silly, I know). These guys though make me feel comfortable.

After hearing that this practice has patients as far away as Kentucky I decided to give it a try... and I wasn't disappointed. These guys have mastered their trade. Both dentists are highly skilled and genuinely care about their patients. The waiting room should be renamed because the longest "wait" I've had in all the years Ive been going there was 43 seconds...they do have magazines, but your not going to get much farther than the table of contents before you hear your name being called...and dont be late - they don't like that but then again who does? So get your A$$ in there early and you'll leave satisfied with a sparkling smile!

I meet Dr. Bluestone a few years back, and I must say he is the best along with his staff. I drive from Schuylkill County to Berks to see Dr. Bluestone that's how much I like my Dentist.

Let me start off by saying that I liked Dr. Bluestone, as well as his assistant. I had a crown put on my lower left molar, after a root canal due to hypersensitivity. My insurance paid some, but I was still responsible for a large amount of the cost - over $700.00, if my memory is correct. I chose to go to him because I had heard good things about him from a couple of people and he also does the entire procedure in one visit (no temporary crown or multiple visits). I had the work done. No biggie. I then had a routine cleaning & exam done by the hygienist, who just so happens to be his wife. She was so cold and rough. Not nice at all!! When I was checking out the receptionist wanted to go ahead and schedule my next routine cleaning and exam. I chose not to because I disliked the hygienist very much. So, after a month or so I felt that my crown just wasn't right. It was not level with my other back teeth and there was also a ridge where the crown didn't sit flush against my gum line. I should've gone back to have it checked, but by this time I no longer had dental insurance and was also out of work. Now fast forward to a couple of weeks ago.... The molar in front of the crown that Dr. Bluestone did broke while I was eating. That tooth had a large filling from back when I was a kid. The tooth started to cause a lot of pain and I went to the dentist last night (I recently purchased dental insurance and could afford to go). I had x-rays done, which made the poorly done crown visible to my new dentist. My worries from the time of when the crown was done were confirmed - the crown was a mess and to prevent any further problems, it needed to be removed, cleaned out and replaced! After insurance, my cost is again over $750.00. I've NEVER EVER had any problems or issues with my teeth, except for the hypersensitivity. Had Dr. Bluestone done his job properly, I wouldn't need to have additional work to be done, as well as redo the shoddy work he did. I found his work to be quite expensive compared to what other dentists charge, as well as the work not being up to standards. Not to mention that his wife is not at all friendly, gentle or remotely personable. I suggest avoiding him, if you have a choice. And if you do go to him and something doesn't seem or feel right, speak up right away like I wished I would have done.

My wife and I have been going to Dr. Bluestone for many years. They are very accommodating and are always friendly! We routinely go for cleanings and any kind of work that needs to be done (crowns, fillings, etc). Work is always carefully done. Spotless, updated office that is also family friendly. Never mind having to go to the dentist!
