Dr. David Kurtzman, a graduate of Emory Universitys esteemed dental school, has seen a lot of changes in the 28 years that he has been in practice and hes made some big changes, too. He started out with a traditional dental practice providing cosmetic, reconstructive and general care, but about a decade ago he decided he wanted to do things differently.
I decided to adopt a holistic approach by respecting the mind, body and spirit of eachclient according to the personality, health goals and desires of that person. In so doing he has structured his practice to allocate more time for each client. We do things the right wayquality is emphasized above quantity, I listen to my clients, I am not rushed and can always run on time. The people that work with me understand and share this vision.
Dr. Kurtzman, affectionately called 'DK' by his dental staff and many clients, is also committed to treating hard-to-treat clients those with developmental disabilities or those with physical handicaps, clients with mild to severe medical problems andclients with mild to severe dental phobias. He does this by providing compassion and a soothing environment and by offering medications, laughing gas and oral sedation.
In some cases he treats dentalclients under general anesthesia in the operating room at WellStar Windy Hill and Kennestone Hospitals in Marietta. In less than nine hours in the operating room, we can often fix all the problems created by years of avoiding the dentist and complete a series of procedures that would normally require several office visits.
With each of these customized options, he offers hisclients his undivided attention. I listen purposefully and carefully to each client, explain treatment options thoroughly and invite them into the decision process. Im not running from room to roomI schedule oneclient at a time, and I focus on oneclient at a time. I understandI do not particularly like going to the dentist either. So Im going to do whatever it takes to address their fears and put myclients at ease so that they can get the care they need.
Something else you might appreciate about Dr. Kurtzman - Hes good with his hands. Who better to perform the intricate tasks dentistry often requires in the confines of your tiny mouth than an artist and skilled craftsman. Kurtzman enjoys cartooning and calligraphy, music (he has played several instruments and currently is back with his violin), has built a British sports car and renovated a house. By extension, I am meticulous about dentistry. I want my work to be perfect.

I grew up in rural Chatsworth, Georgia with two amazing parents and lots of animals running around. I loved going to the dentist as a child everyone was so welcoming and kind to me, and I actually decided I wanted to become a dentist when I was eight years old! I graduated from Dalton High School then went to Auburn University, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Biomedical Sciences. While there, I was a member of the Auburn University Gymnastics Team, specializing in floor exercise and balance beam. As a gymnast, I was named the SEC Scholar Athlete of the Year and NCAA Academic All-American and earned the Wentworth Award for the gymnast best representing the values of the Auburn Creed.
This year, I got engaged to my fianc, Evan, who is also a dentist, and we plan to get married within the next year. Between the two of us, we have taken in two stray animals that we love dearly: my dog Foxy and Evans cat Linus. I love food and a good cup of coffee and enjoy trying as many new and unique restaurants as I can. I also enjoy exploring Atlanta on my bicycle and am a health and fitness enthusiast, with yoga, barre, and dance being some of my favorite activities. I love reading and exploring new places, cultures, and ideas.
I am a true Georgia Peach and I havent strayed far from my hometown of Powder Springs. I joined Dr. Kurtzmans office in August of 2014 and have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of this awesome team! I met Dr. Kurtzman while I was working at a bank; I had recently gotten married and was looking for a more fulfilling career. Around that same time Dr. Kurtzman had an opening come available and it just seemed meant to be. I am new to the dental field and I feel very fortunate to work for such a great dentist who provides such high quality treatment to each and every patient who walks through our door. I look forward to many years with this team and getting to know each and every one of you along the way.
I was raised in Henry County, Georgia and currently reside in Carrollton. I am a graduate of West Georgia Technical College with an AAS in Dental Hygiene Degree. I am also an Expanded Duties Dental Assistant through the State of Georgia and a certified CPR and First Aid Instructor with the American Heart Association. My passion for dental health started in high school working as a dental assistant through my school cooperative program. It is that same passion that brought me back after years working with foster children, special needs students, and senior citizens. I, myself, have experienced fear at the dentist and can fully relate to patients anxiety. I knew after the first time I worked with Dr. Kurtzman and our staff that this was my perfect fit. I love working with our patients and being part of an incredible team that truly cares about patient comfort and positive dental experiences. I have been married since 2001 to my husband Brian, who works in fire and EMS with Union City Fire Department. We have two teenage sons, Conner and Ryder, that keep us busy with basketball, baseball, and football. When we are not in the gym or on the field, CPR instruction is a family affair and we have enjoyed teaching our sons the importance of saving lives. Our family enjoys all things Georgia Bulldogs and we love spending time at the beach, as well. Our lives are also fulfilled by supporting and volunteering with Special Olympics of Georgia. I look forward to meeting all of you and working together to make your smiles shine!

In 2002 I took a position as a dental assistant in a private practice office. It was a life changing experience. I had the opportunity to work alongside a passionate military dentist who genuinely enjoyed teaching dentistry to his team. The more he taught, the more motivated I became to further my career as a dental hygienist. I continued working as a dental assistant for several years in private, corporate dentistry and in the United States Army Reserves.
In 2009 I received my Pre Dental Hygiene Certification from Aiken College, Aiken South Carolina. In May 2014, I graduated from Fortis College, Smyrna Georgia with an AAS in Dental Hygiene.
