Dr. David Fagundes was born in East Point, GA. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Georgia. He continued his studies at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry, receiving his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 1993. Dr. Fagundes then completed the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency program at the University of Alabama in 1994. During his AEGD residency, Dr. Fagundes was accepted to the highly regarded Post-Graduate Endodontics residency program at the University of Maryland at Baltimore College of Dentistry where he graduated in 1996, receiving both his Certificate in Endodontics and his Master of Science degree in Oral Biology.
Dr. Fagundes has been in private practice for the past twentyyears mastering his technique through experience and continuing his education. His thirst for knowledge and his passion for his profession motivated Dr. Fagundes to complete the rigorous requirements to become Board-Certified in 2001.
Board Certification is the highest level of achievement in Endodontics. Less than one-third of Endodontists are Board-Certified. We hope that this further instills your confidence in our office. Dr. Fagundes is the only Board-Certified Endodontist in the LaGrange, Newnan, and Columbus area.
A Board-Certified Endodontist has satisfied all requirements of the Board Certification process of the American Board of Endodontics (ABE). This individual is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics.
ABE Diplomate status is awarded to qualified endodontists who have demonstrated diagnostic skill, clinical proficiency, and professional judgment of a level that ensures the highest quality of care for patients. They have taken an examination administered by a panel of experts of their peers and have demonstrated an exemplary level of knowledge, understanding, and clinical expertise in Endodontics. Three exams over several years are completed which include a written exam, case submissions and finally an oral examination conducted by the Directors of the ABE. All of these must be completed satisfactorily within a specific timeframe.
Dr. Fagundes received his Diplomate status in 2001, and was recognized at the American Association of Endodontists Annual Convention in New Orleans, Louisiana in April 2001. He is thrilled to have achieved this milestone in his profession.

D. K. Fagundes, D.M.D., M.S., P.C. is equipped with up to date technologies, such as surgical operating microscopes that magnify the tooth many times its normal size, allowing Dr. Fagundes to meticulously clean every portion of the root canal system. This provides the best possible prognosis for complete healing of the tooth. We also use digital radiography (x-rays), which provides 90% less radiation than conventional film x-rays and high quality image presentation within seconds.

Dr Fagundes and His Staff are Awesome!! I would highly recommend him for your dental needs. I had a root canal done and I left out able to talk normal, mouth didn't feel enormous. Came out like I went in. His Assistant explained everything to me. Dr Fagundes makes you feel very comfortable. If I could give 10 Stars I would.

Let me start by saying I was very nervous to get my first root canal. Young lady at the front desk made me feel welcome with her pretty smile. The waiting room was comfortable and clean along with the restroom. The dental assistant was polite and caring. She answered all my questions with such patience and briefed me on what to expect. Dr. Fagundes came in and introduced himself and set my expectation for the procedure. Everything went exactly as he stated. I didn't need any pain meds afterwards and didn't have any soreness.

No one imagines a root canal to be a pleasurable easy experience, however I would say that Dr. Fagundes made this appointment first and foremost absent of pain, friendly conversation throughout, and a great team working with him from admin to assistants, a superb job overall. I don't necessarily want to return, but if the need arises, I won't concern myself looking elsewhere.

I was extremely nervous going in with this being my first root canal. However, the staff was very nice and understanding of that. My anxiety and fear was quickly evaporated. Any questions I had were answered and I was treated like a person. Not like another countless patient. And 9 hours post-op, I don't feel any pain or discomfort at all. I couldn't be more pleased with this team.
