Orthodontics is the specialty of dentistry that focused on diagnosing, preventing and treating misaligned aligned teeth and/or jaws. After finishing dental school, orthodontists attend a two or three year residency program to learn tooth movement and facial development, making them the uniquely educated experts in dentistry to straighten teeth and align jaws. Orthodontists limit their practices to orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. That means that orthodontic treatment is what they do, and that is all they do. Orthodontists treat a wide variety of malocclusions (misaligned aligned teeth and/or jaws). They regularly treat young children, teens and adults.

Straight teeth help us bite and chew correctly and contribute to healthy teeth and gums. Straight teeth are easier to brush and keep clean. Teeth that stick out are also at a greater risk of damage from sports and falls. A wonderful side effect of orthodontics is a good looking smile. An attractive smile can help boost self esteem and boost self confidence.

Braces act as small handles on the teeth that allow Dr. Myers to apply gentle pressures to the teeth and guide them into the proper position. Braces are not the only tools we use. Rubber bands, expanders and occasionally headgear are things that Dr. Myers may deem necessary for proper tooth guidance.

David J. Myers, DDS, MS Education: Dr Myers received his Bachelor of Science degree from UCA in 1988. The University of Tennesee in Memphis was the school Dr. Myers attended for both dental school and his residency in orthodontics. Four years of dental school was finished in 1991, followed by three years of residency, completed in 1995.

Hobbies: Radio controlled airplanes, rebuilding old cars, and an avid collector of 'junk.' Dr. Myers maintains memberships in a variety of organizations. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Southwestern Society of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, and Arkansas State Dental Association. Dr. Myers has also shared his expertise in orthodontics as an orthodontic instructor at the University of Tennessee Dental School in Memphis.

Lisa Hill - Professional Relations Coordinator/Assistant Lisa has two grown daughters, Morgan and Abigail. She and her husband Greg have lived in Conway since 1993. Lisa has worked with Dr. Myers since July of 2007. Her hobbies include kayaking, canoeing, fishing and gardening.
