Dr. David Felgenhauer received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana. He then attended the University of Illinois Medical Center Campus where he received both a Bachelor of Science in Dentistry and a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree. After his doctorate, he served as a resident in General Dentistry at Illinois Masonic Medical Center. The next year he completed a residency in General Anesthesia at Illinois Masonic Medical center. His Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training was received at John H. Stroger Hospital (formerly Cook County Hospital) in Chicago. Since completion of residency training he was an Attending in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Illinois and Illinois Masonic Medical Center where he served as Head of the Section of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery until 1999. He is a former Attending in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at John H. Stroger Hospital.
Currently, Dr. Felgenhauer serves as a clinical faculty member at Midwestern Dental School where he instructs students in oral surgical procedures. He is a Fellow in the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and a Fellow in the American Dental Society of Anesthesiologists and a Diplomate of the National Dental Board of Anesthesia. For the past 25 years he has been a member of the Anesthesia committee for the Illinois Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a member of both the Illinois and Chicago Societies of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He holds memberships in the American Dental Society of Anesthesia (ADSA) and the Illinois ADSA component society where he has served as past president. He is certified by the American Heart Association in both Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

Excellent experience. The doctor extracted tooth and bone graft under 30 minutes. Dr. Felgenhauer has mastered his craft.

The doctor was able to treat me beyond his working hours because of some issues witn my appointment schedule. Knowing my problem, I anticipated he would have some difficulty with the procedure, but he did it with ease and speed, compared to similar procedure I had with other dentists.

I hate dentists. It's really that simple. No matter how kind or quick they are, I always find myself exhibiting major anxiety and sometimes even an attitude. I chose Dr. Felgenhauer based on initial Google reviews and proximity to my home. I mean, some of his reviews on the other sites were a bit sketchy, but I went anyway. I was given an appointment within a week for oral surgery- and that was just because of my work schedule that I couldn't get in sooner. The staff are like amazingly nice and friendly. I wish I was good with names, but there's such a friendly nurse there that took care of me that honestly made me feel so welcomed and comfortable. I felt like I knew the dentist and the staff forever ! The surgery itself was quick and painless!! Some have complained that the provider didn't explain conditions properly or answer questions. I found him to be as thorough as he could before my procedure and the nurse was great with after care instructions. I appreciate the no nonsense approach to here are you instructions, here's your medicine, now go be free. Thanks for a great experience!!

Best oral surgeon, hands down! I went in to get 3 teeth pulled at the same time. I was shaking and anxiety was through the roof, but Dr. Felgenhauer and Ms. D made sure that things went quick and smoothly! The worst part was feeling the needle to numb the gums and of course that part wasn't bad at all!

Needed a tooth pulled that was causing me serious pain. Dr. Felgenhauer was able to get me in AND removed my tooth in less than 24 hours. EXTREMELY affordable, as I didn't have insurance. Really kind staff, everything was really quick and painless. I would recommend Dr. Felgenhauer to friends and family 100%!!!

Went to Dr. Felgenhauer to have a wisdom tooth removed. Removal was painless and quick. Staff and nurses were pleasant and professional.
