Dr. Warner has maintained a practice limited to Periodontics and implants for the past 30 years in Whittier, California. He earned a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineeting in 1966 from Kansas State University. He earned his D.D.S. degree at the University of Southern California Dental School in 1979, where he was number two in a class of 120. While in dental school Dr. Warner was elected to Alpha Tau Epsilon and Omicron Kappa Upsilon, dental honor societies. Following dental school, Dr. Warner served a one year General Practice Residency at the Wadsworth Veterans Administration Medical Center in Westwood, California. He obtained his periodontal training at the same facility, where he served as Chief Periodontal Resident from 1981 to 1982. After obtaining his Certificate in Periodontids in the fall of 1982 Dr. Warner and his wife, Cathy, a Dental Hygienist, launched their periodontal practice in Whittier, California, adding services for dental implant placement and site development in 1984.

Dental implants are a permanent and appealing solution to replace missing or extracted teeth. They are better than other alternatives like bridges because no additional teeth need to be altered to place the new tooth.

The entire implant process is performed over the course of a few months. The first part of the process is to install the implant itself, where a screw is placed into the jaw bone. An incision is made in the gum so that the implant can be inserted. Multiple implants can be placed at once if necessary. After the implants are placed the gums are sutured.

The implant must be allowed about 3-6 months to heal, and during this time the jaw bone will form around the implant in a process called osseointegration. During this healing time you can have temporary crowns installed so that you can eat and speak normally and maintain a proper aesthetic appearance for your smile.

After the implant has healed it is time to place an abutment on the implant. The abutment serves as the base for your new tooth. One this is placed an impression of the abutment is taken and is used to create your permanent restoration. Some offices have an onsite lab to create the crown, but others will have to send it to an outside lab. Once the restoration is completed you can return to the office to attach the restoration permanently. Your smile will look just like it used to, and after a short period of getting used to the implant it will feel just like one of your own teeth.

I've been Dr. Warner's patient for many years. He and his staff are very friendly and informative. I've had many deep cleanings, teeth removed, and implants placed without any complications. He is a great periodontis!

I have been seeing Dr. Warner for over 30 years on a quarterly basis. He is very knowledgeable and I trust his recommendations. Without him, I am not sure what shape my teeth would be in today if I still had any! I concur with the last reviewer that I would not trust the health of my mouth to anyone else. He is also kind and cares about you as a person, which is rare these days in the medical profession.
