Dr. Smith received his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in 1984. He received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in Chicago in 1988. He completed postgraduate training in the General Practice Residency Program at Tufts University in Boston in 1989.

Dr. Smith is a member of the American Dental Association, the Massachusetts Dental Society, the North Shore Periodontal Prosthesis Study Club, and the Academy of Computerized Dentistry. He has been editor and Chairman of the North Shore Dental Society Newsletter for six years and has lectured to his study club. He is also a member and past president of the Swampscott Rotary Club.

Dr. Tano was awarded a U.S. Air Force ROTC scholarship while completing a BS in Economics from Carnegie Mellon University, Tepper School of Business. Upon graduation, Dr. Tano was stationed at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, MA where she served our country as a Captain. She advanced her education and earned an MSBA from Boston University. After much introspection, Dr. Tano wanted to serve people in a different way, and decided to pursue dentistry. She completed her pre-dental program from the Harvard University Extension School. Then graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where she earned her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry.

Dr. Tano is a general dentist that is proficient in a broad range of dental procedures to include crowns, bridges, cosmetic, CEREC and Invisalign cases. Dr. Tano is an active member of the Spear Study Club and North Shore Dental Society.

Your first visit to our office is designed to get you better acquainted with all we offer as well as introduce you to our caring staff. On your first visit, we will review your medical and dental histories and evaluate your oral health.
