Dr. Reid Darnell was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1998 and from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio Dental School in 2002 ranked the number one dental schoolin the country US News and World Report. Dr. Darnell has owned and operated a private dental practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico from 2005-2014 before selling his practice to move home to Texas. In Albuquerque, Dr. Darnell was voted top dentist amongst his peers from 2008-2013 in the field of family and cosmetic dentistry, and one of America's top dentist by consumer reports. He is now practicing in a new, state of the art, facility in Southlake, Texas where he and his family reside.
Dr. Darnell prides himself on providing the most up to date and best possible dental care available in dentistry today. Starting with diagnostic and educational tools such as digital raidography, 3D cone beam scans, and intraoral cameras, patients will be assured their overall dental health will be upheld to the highest standards. Cerac dentistry allows Dr. Darnell to complete many dental procedures, including crowns, inlays, and onlays, in just one visit. This new state of the art facility gives Dr. Darnell the opportunity to deliver the best, and most comprehensive, dental care in the industry today. He is committed to growing as a care giver as dentistry changes and evolves to best serve his patients.
In his spare time, Dr. Darnell enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons with outdoor activities such as sports, fly-fishing, and camping. He is an active member of a Christian church and volunteers his time as a youth baseball coach. Some charities close to Dr. Darnell's heart include Make-A-Wish Foundation, and other foundations which benefit medically compromised children.

Although I am not a big fan of Dentistry due to many previous bad experiences. Dr Darnell has always made my situations better and he is not your typical dental salesman like some are. He actually came in on his day off to extract a bad tooth from a failed root canal. I honestly trust this office to give you all the options that are best for you. All 5 of my family members come to this office and will continue

Dr. Darnell and staff are excellent. Especially with patients like me that hate dental work. They always make you comfortable and talk you through the process. Dr Darnell makes you feel like you are his only patient. Love this office and the staff. Simply awesome folks.

This review is not about Dr Darnell, as a matter of fact he has been a great dentist for me and my family for years. My expereince in this office with billing has been nothing but disappointing. The first time I had an issue with my FSA it tooks months for Veronica to correct. This year there have been 2 more billing discrepancies . As you can guess, I needed dental work, and was told how much I needed to pay so I could have the work completed. I paid, no issues there! I happened to compare what I paid at the office to the EOB (explanation of benefits). I was due a refund because the dental insurance paid a portion of what I already paid. I emailed the documentation multiple times and I even called and spoke with Veronica and she assured me she would take care of it. This has been going on since June and I still not have been given a refund or even an explanation of the billing. In October I sent another email explaining that I would have to start looking for another dentist if I did not hear back from her. As of today I have not heard from her or anyone else in the office. Their expectation of services is to be paid at that time when its something more than a cleaning. The same consideration should happen when it concerns a refund to a customer it should not work only in their favor. I will miss Dr Darnell as our family dentist however I will not miss the lack of professionalism from Veronica when it comes to billing. My recommendation for using this office is, review your EOB's to make sure what you paid matches what you should have been charged.

I've been a patient of this practice for a few years now. Best dentist and team I've ever had. Dr. Darnell's crown and general dentistry work is outstanding. The office has a very upbeat atmosphere. Highly recommend!

I am a new patient and really appreciated the warm and friendly atmosphere. They were informative, but did not pressure me to do any work that was not needed. They truly cared that I had a good experience and you just don't find that a lot. From the moment I entered the building to the end of the appointment, the staff and Dr. Darnell were terrific! I would highly recommend Darnell Dentistry!

Dr. Darnell performed a root canal on me four years ago. Since I left his ofice that day in 2016, the tooth has ached-- often keeping me awake at night. I recently visited an endodontist who re-treated the tooth. He found a canal that had not been treated, which caused extensive infection and pain-- not to mention the hefty financial cost. My advice is to steer clear of this office if you need anything more advanced than a cleaning.

Quite simply the BEST dentist and office with whom I and my family have ever had the pleasure of working. Dr. Darnell gives great advice and isn't looking to do unnecessary procedures. He has a great team of hygienists who make you relaxed and calm, who are gentle but also great at what they do. I couldn't recommend more highly.

This was my first time using Dr. Darnell. He came highly recommended by several others in the area. Rightfully so! My entire experience was excellent. Friendly, helpful ladies at the front desk, exceptional hygienist, very friendly and knowledgeable dentist. I came in for a cleaning and had a small cavity. I have a newborn at home and since I was already there he squeezed me in and went ahead and took care of the filling because he knows how hard it is to get away with a baby and two toddlers at home. I'll definitely continue using him and would highly recommend him to others.
