Dr. Daren received a BS/BA in Biology and Philosophy from Union College, Schenectady, NY in 1979. She received her DDS from New York University College of Dentistry in 1984. She practiced for two years in Old Lyme as an associate prior to opening her own dental practice in East Lyme in May 1987.
Dr. Daren is a member of the American Dental Association, Connecticut Dental Association and the New London County Dental Society. She served for seven years on the board of the New London County Dental Society and completed her service as President of that organization. She is presently chairperson of the New London County Dental Peer Review Committee. In addition to attending numerous continuing education courses, Dr. Daren has been a member of the Shoreline Periodontics Study Club for many years.
Dr. Daren is honored to be recognized by her peers in Connecticut Magazines Top Dentist in the years 2010 through 2014. Most recently, she was voted as one of the Top 3 Dentists in the New London Day Readers Choice Awards for 2015.
Dr. Daren lives in New London with her husband Steven. They have two grown children, Andrew and Anna. When not in the office, she enjoys traveling, cycling, strength training, theater, fine dining, and attending concerts. For over 20 years, she has served as a volunteer at the New London Community Meal Center.
Dr. Daren is committed to continuing education for her and her staff. Her office houses state-of the-art diagnostic and treatment equipment, including full electronic dental records, and she will continue to stay abreast of advancing technology. These efforts are all aimed to improve her patients dental care and comfort.

Ive been seeing Dr. Daren since I was 10 years old (so going on 22 years now!) and every member of my family goes to this office as well. Everyone is professional and friendly and Im greeted by name whenever I walk in the door. I can honestly say that Dr. Daren, Ellen, Lynn and the rest of the crew at this practice legitimately care about their patients and give them the best care possible. I would recommend this office to anyone!

My hygienist Ellen is absolutely phenomenal! Not only knowledgeable & thorough but kind, polite, and conscious on conversation/questions while cleaning your teeth. In other words, she's aware she's in your mouth while making conversation and makes sure she gives you the rinse/dry to answer back if need be. I always walk out feeling confident my teeth were cleaned well, and proper advice for teeth maintenance was given. After my cleaning today I went into work bragging about how great my dentist office is, and was asked where I go! Darren Dental... don't ever change your ways, as ive seen you with the most knowledgeable hygienists, and fresh smiled administrators! Truly a pleasant place to have 1 of the most important health maintainces done. Thank you

Jessica is the best!!! She was so great, very thorough. I was so comfortable with her I could of napped! I also saw Dr. Daren she is the best! So nice. I will be returning to them for all of my dental needs.
