Dr. Thomas White is a native of Danville, VA. His interest in dentistry was sparked through his enrollment in the dental assisting curriculum at George Washington High School. Dr. Whites educational background includes graduating magna cum laude in 2011 from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and in 2015 from VCUs School of Dentistry with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He has also volunteered his services with Give Kids a Smile and Mission of Mercy (MOM) projects.
Dr. Albert Payne is originally from Danville and graduated from George Washington High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1972 from the College of William and Mary. Following graduation from Virginia Commonwealth Universitys Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry in 1976 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, Dr. Payne opened a private practice in Danville where he has been serving the community ever since.
Dr. Payne is a member of the American Dental Association and the Virginia Dental Association, as well as the Piedmont Dental Society and Danville Regional Dental Society. He was named a Fellow of the Piedmont Dental Society, the American College of Dentists, and the International College of Dentists. Dr. Payne has been selected as Best Dentist numerous times since 1998 in the Danville Register and Bees Readers Choice Awards, the Chatham Star-Tribunes Readers Choice Awards, and Showcase Magazines RAVE Awards.
Dr. Payne served as a member of the Board of Directors of Delta Dental Plan of Virginia from 1988 through 2016 and previously served on the board for the Boys and Girls Club of Danville. He now serves on the board of directors for VA Bank & Trust Company. As an active participant in the community, Dr. Payne is involved with many local organizations in varying capacities. He is President of both the Tunstall High School Academic Booster Club and St. Johns United Methodist Church Fishermens Club.
Dr. Payne has been a volunteer for the Mission of Mercy projects in Southwest Virginia and in Danville, which provide free dental care for patients who are unable to afford treatment. He has also participated in the Give Thanks for Smiles program sponsored by Danville Dental Associates in November of each year. He has coached the Pittsylvania County Youth Leagues basketball and softball teams for girls, as well as serving on the Pittsylvania County School Board from 1988 to 2000.
Dr. Payne is a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Mens organization where he was instrumental in establishing a project of planting and harvesting potatoes for Gods Storehouse in Danville. He is a member of the Alumni Associations of VCU School of Dentistry and the College of William and Mary.
Dr. Payne married his wife, Sandra, in 1973. They have three children, all of whom are now grown, and six grandchildren. When hes outside of the office, Dr. Payne enjoys playing golf. His other hobbies include reading, gardening, attending concerts, watching movies, and being a loving Grandpa to the youngest members of his family.

Advertises that they except Medicaid when I called I was told that they are not excepting any Medicaid patients at this time and was not even told when they might except any. Very disappointing.

They over book people to try and squeeze people in for the money and you end up waiting for a long period of time for service or your appointment is rushed and questions you have go unanswered or answered poorly. Also they have this policy now where after two failed appointments you have to wait 30 days to rebook an appointment but I was not made aware of this when I needed to reschedule my kids dentist appointment and she wears braces so they're neglecting her care for 30 whole days because I'm having car trouble and even though I called to reschedule hours before her appointment. I'm a single mother from Wisconsin with no one else to take her so I couldn't make it and they don't care. I have lived in 5 other States and Danville VA by far has the worst healthcare system I have ever witnessed !

The dentists and the staff are all wonderful! The downstairs office has a play area for kids, which is where we lost stars... It is incredibly neglected, there are 2 electronic game systems and neither work, there is an air hockey that doesn't work, but the foosball table does work! I actually had to unplug an electrical hazard that appeared to be an attempted repair to the Air Hockey table. The play area either needs closed or taken care of, I don't need a fried child.

I went to Danville Dental on Riverside, and I must admit, I was impressed by the staff and Dr. Moon. I was seen in less than 15 minutes from the time I arrived. Everyone was nice and professional. I would highly recommend this office and Dr. Moon.

Taylor (my hygienist) was very friendly and did an amazing job. She even got stains off my teeth that I thought couldn't be removed! Also saw her cleaning up after our appointment for the next patient (Covid prevention). Definitely recommend this office and their staff!

This was my first visit and I can honestly say that it was an awesome experience. Dr. Williams was such a pleasure, lots of knowledge, and very friendly. The nurses were patient and caring.

After trying SEVERAL dentists in Danville and not being impressed by any of them, I called Danville Dental to give them a try. My daughter and I have both been impressed by their professionalism and willingness to talk with you about your dental care. We never feel rushed and actually have always felt welcomed, valued, and well taken care of by Dr. Williams and the dental hygienists that clean our teeth. One time, I had a problem with a filling and Dr. Williams replied quickly to my concerns and had me in the office the next day to fix the problem to my full satisfaction! My daughter even said after one visit, "I LOVE Dr. Williams.....she is the BEST!" When this comes from your preteen who has had some pretty horrible experiences at other dental offices, then you know you've found someone pretty incredible! Thank you Dr. Williams and everyone that we've worked with at Danville Dental!

I have been visiting Dr. Albert Payne at Danville Dental Associates since he finished Dental School and opened practice in DVA! He is the best Dentist ever!! He is kind, gentle, a great Christian man and has expanded his practice to include many very capable Dentists, I have seen them in his absence and they are terrific too. If you don't have insurance they have a terrific savings plan that saves you lots of money. My hygienist is Jenny Toufas... she is fabulous! If you want royal treatment(and I know most folks don't like to go) please call for an appointment! Guarantee you will not be disappointed! Greatest group of dedicated, competent associates you can find! I really love every visit with them for over 40 years!

I would like to say that it was first visit, had to get wisdom teeth pulled, after visit, dentist didn't give any antibiotics or pain meds, since my visit, I have been in alot.of pain face swollen, can't eat or swallow I don't recommend this office for any of ur needs!!!
