Dr. Thomas White is a native of Danville, VA. His interest in dentistry was sparked through his enrollment in the dental assisting curriculum at George Washington High School. Dr. Whites educational background includes graduating magna cum laude in 2011 from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and in 2015 from VCUs School of Dentistry with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He has also volunteered his services with Give Kids a Smile and Mission of Mercy (MOM) projects.
Dr. Albert Payne is originally from Danville and graduated from George Washington High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1972 from the College of William and Mary. Following graduation from Virginia Commonwealth Universitys Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry in 1976 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, Dr. Payne opened a private practice in Danville where he has been serving the community ever since.
Dr. Payne is a member of the American Dental Association and the Virginia Dental Association, as well as the Piedmont Dental Society and Danville Regional Dental Society. He was named a Fellow of the Piedmont Dental Society, the American College of Dentists, and the International College of Dentists. Dr. Payne has been selected as Best Dentist numerous times since 1998 in the Danville Register and Bees Readers Choice Awards, the Chatham Star-Tribunes Readers Choice Awards, and Showcase Magazines RAVE Awards.
Dr. Payne served as a member of the Board of Directors of Delta Dental Plan of Virginia from 1988 through 2016 and previously served on the board for the Boys and Girls Club of Danville. He now serves on the board of directors for VA Bank & Trust Company. As an active participant in the community, Dr. Payne is involved with many local organizations in varying capacities. He is President of both the Tunstall High School Academic Booster Club and St. Johns United Methodist Church Fishermens Club.
Dr. Payne has been a volunteer for the Mission of Mercy projects in Southwest Virginia and in Danville, which provide free dental care for patients who are unable to afford treatment. He has also participated in the Give Thanks for Smiles program sponsored by Danville Dental Associates in November of each year. He has coached the Pittsylvania County Youth Leagues basketball and softball teams for girls, as well as serving on the Pittsylvania County School Board from 1988 to 2000.
Dr. Payne is a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Mens organization where he was instrumental in establishing a project of planting and harvesting potatoes for Gods Storehouse in Danville. He is a member of the Alumni Associations of VCU School of Dentistry and the College of William and Mary.
Dr. Payne married his wife, Sandra, in 1973. They have three children, all of whom are now grown, and six grandchildren. When hes outside of the office, Dr. Payne enjoys playing golf. His other hobbies include reading, gardening, attending concerts, watching movies, and being a loving Grandpa to the youngest members of his family.

I called this morning and they seen me in the same day. I was so relieved but nervous at the same. My dental assistant Emily was nothing but the truth. She helped calmed my nerves down and reassured me several times everything was going to be okay. She said I was in good hands and she was right. Dr. Hessler was so kind and made me feel comfortable. The receptionist was even a sweet heart. Again thank you Emily for being so gentle and patient with me today.

BEWARE of Danville Dental Associates dropping your insurance without notifying you!! Evidently, I have been accumulating charges that were unknown to me. They claim that an insurance notice was posted in the lobby; however, at the time of my visit - it was not. In fact, a notification letter should have been respectively sent out to their clientele. After several attempts within several weeks of my calling to get an explanation, I requested an adjustment of the bill due to their lack of revealing to me that they were no longer accepting my insurance. After two to three weeks of calling them and playing phone tag, I finally had to press the information out of them to find out that my request had been DENIED. My recommendation is to all Danville Dental Associates' clientele... to get a written guarantee of this dental facility accepting particular insurance upon every visit. This is obviously YOUR job as the client, because the staff will not fulfill their assumed obligations in doing so. Needless to say, this practice conducts their business in a poor fashion and conducts their practices in a less than sub-standard way. Neither me nor my children will being going back to them for our dental needs.

Dr.Hessler and the staff all are so amazing. I went for a few visits and now my bring my children as well. Very welcoming vibe when you come through the door and until you leave!

This is the worst business telephone system I've ever seen! My regular dentist office (140 Piney Forest Rd.) doesn't answer the phone, and sends my call to the automated system then the automated telephone system tells me to dial "0" for an operator. When I dial 0 it tells me that is an invalid number.

Dr. Healer and the Dental Assistants and hygienist are phenomenal! They're professional and friendly and they explain how different things work as far as your mouth, the tools they will use, and what they're about to do before proceeding. Excellent service and excellent staff!

I was extremely pleased with Dr. A. Silvers and his amazing staff, and was so disappointed when he announced his retirement. Dr. Hessler joined in and never missed a beat. This young man is courteous and a skilled craftsman and the same great staff is by his side. I hope he will stay in our city for the next 40 years!

The staff were all wonderful from the moment I arrived. The Dental technician was professional, kind and caring. Everything was explained to me and the staff did everything possible to insure I got the best possible care. I had the same beloved dentist for over 20 years before I relocated. Finding Dr. Hessler and the staff here was indeed a blessing.
