I became an orthodontist because of my own experience with orthodontic treatment, but also because of my initial experience in doing orthodontics as a dental student. I had such a great experience with my own orthodontist and was so impressed with the results that I wanted to provide the same experience for my own patients. Dr. Gonzales grew up in southern California. He has always had a passion for learning and for sports. After graduating from U.C.L.A., his love for science drew him to work in immunology research for one year at Veterans Hospital in Los Angeles. Dr. Gonzales then went on to receive his dental degree at Tufts University in Boston. There he graduated at the top of his class with the honor of Summa Cum Laude. Following his passion for orthodontics, Dr. Gonzales attended the University of the Pacific Orthodontic program in San Francisco. The world class orthodontic training at U.O.P. helped Dr. Gonzales become a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, an honor bestowed upon only 1 in 5 practicing orthodontists.
After graduating from his U.O.P. residency in orthodontics, Dr. Gonzales worked with several orthodontists around the Bay Area. Working for a year with several orthodontists gave him great insight into what was working well in private practice. Taking all of the best aspects of each office, Dr. Gonzales decided to go into private practice on his own. In September of 1998, Dante Gonzales Orthodontics was founded. In those first years of private practice, Dr. Gonzales noted that both the clinical side of orthodontics as well as the business of orthodontics are forever evolving. In order to provide patients with the best clinical orthodontics and the best office experience, it takes a constant commitment to learning not only what is new in orthodontics, but what is working and what is not. Dr. Lee is a bay area native, did her dental studies in San Francisco at the University of the Pacific, and completed the orthodontic training at New York University Langone hospital in New York. Dr. Lee is passionate about research and completed a fellowship in Craniofacial genetics and published several studies in addition to the study involving biomarkers funded by Align technology.
Dr. Shayesteh grew up the son of a general dentist. His father was also a dental instructor. He grew up in southern California and attended U.C.L.A. for his undergraduate degree. The last several years were spent on the east coast where he attended Howard University for dental school. He then decided to specialize in Periodontics and attended the specialty residency program at the University of Pittsburgh.After becoming a periodontist Dr. Shayesteh then went on to attend the orthodontic residency program at Seton Hill University near Pittsburgh.This is very rare to have a specialty degree in two specialties. Dr. Shayesteh is both an orthodontist and a periodontist. We are very lucky to have a doctor of his caliber in our practice.
Dr. Shayesteh is also an accomplished pilot and holds a commercial pilot license. Heholds many licenses and certifications within aviation.So if he isnt helping save your gums and teeth, he can straighten and align them. And after youre all done he can fly you to your next destination.

Diana has been in the dental field since 1991. Her attention to detail and years of administrative experience aids her in acquainting new patients with our practice while building a positive orthodontic experience. Family is priority with Diana, that includes 9 grandchildren. Her love of the outdoors is obvious by her time spent horseback riding, biking riding, hiking, and RV camping.
Javona lives in Fremont and has been in the dental field since 2002. Javona will most likely be one of the first voices you hear when calling our office. She is well versed in dental and administrative knowledge and is always happy to answer any questions you may have. On her down time she loves spending time with her family and summers at lake.
Leo graduated from Western Career College in 2006 and has his RDA and OA license. Making you laugh at your visit is one of Leos specialties. He loves singing at the chair side while you are waiting for doctor to check you. In his free time he loves going to different and exploring all the new restaurants.
Colleen has enjoyed her career as a Registered Dental Assistant in Orthodontics since 1984. She completed her assisting program at the College of Alameda. With Colleens dental knowledge, she is bound to have the answers to any of your questions. She is also a mother of four and proud that her only daughter decided to follow in her footsteps, as an orthodontic assistant. Colleen is an avid animal lover and loves working in her garden.
Sabrina started working for Dr. Gonzales after graduating from Carrington College California in 2012. Getting to know her patients, while also making their experience enjoyable is her favorite part of being a dental assistant. When she is not in the office she enjoys to attending Bay Area sports events, spending time with her pets, and traveling.
Kevin is a Bay Area native, and was a patient of Dr. Gonzales when in he was in 7th grade. His experience at Dr. Gonzaless inspired him to pursue a career as a dental assistant in orthodontics. Kevin graduated from Western Career College in 2005. Good customer service and patient care are his passion. In his free time Kevin enjoys cooking, going winetasting friends, and taking class at the local dance studio.
Jenny went to school at Carrington College 2010 and got her Associates in Science degree in 2012. She enjoys working with patients of all ages. As a mother of 3 she knows how important it is to make your little ones experience special. When Jenny is not in the office she enjoys exploring new makeup techniques, photography, and spending time with her family.
Derrick started in sales in 2012 and joined our practice in 2018. He is most likely one of the first voices you will hear and meet. As your treatment coordinator he will help you navigate through your first visits. Derrick is also well versed in helping you maximize you insurance benefits. In his leisure he likes to go hiking, running, and spending with his dog Bella.
AKA: Brie, has been a Registered Dental Assistant since 2012 and loves helping patients feel comfortable and excited about their smile. From 2014-2019, Brie volunteered at local womens shelters to educate and distribute fluoride to kids who could not get access to routine dental cleanings. During her free time, Brie enjoys hanging out with her dog, going up to the lake to wakeboard, and cheering on her favorite sports teams!
