Opened in 2021, QMG Surgery Centers central location, on the campus of the Quincy Town Center, offers patients a low-cost, high-quality option for outpatient surgical services. It is also the first outpatient center in Illinois to offer cardiac catheterizations safely within an outpatient setting.

In 2020, QMG relocated its growing Oncology department to the 3301 Broadway location. The Cancer Institute offers Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology services within a state-of-the-art facility, all tailored to meet every patients personal needs and experiences.

Physicians like Drs. Barber, Whitaker, and Shulian, whos vision for transformative healthcare in Quincy and the surrounding region, has resulted in expanded and patient-friendly services for people across the tri-state region today. This has not been lost on QMGs multiple physician leaders throughout the last several decades and will continue into the future.

QMGs history of growing to support the needs of patients, while being mindful of repurposing landmark facilities for the greater good of the community, is a theme throughout our 85-year history. A physicians ability to determine the future viability of healthcare, driven by independence in practice, and a desire to do what is right for the patient and community, is what created QMG and what drives our mission long into the future.

Joining QMG over 20 years ago I consider the physicians and employees of QMG friends and like family. In my time with QMG I have led various departments and held various leadership positions in the company and have been CEO for six years. With nearly 90 years of history in caring for patients QMG is a tremendous resource for the community, and with that comes great responsibility to ensure that were transforming healthcare in a way that meets the growing needs of the region for the next 90 years. My focus is on advancing our culture to provide an unrivaled environment for physicians to deliver healthcare, team members to build life-long careers and patients to experience unparalleled care. Our goals are always centered around preserving and enhancing the physician-patient relationship. Toward that end, I am passionate about fostering relationships with physicians, providers, patients, community leaders, policymakers, and other healthcare organizations to produce optimal patient outcomes with maximum community and regional benefit. For the last 34 years, I have worked at Quincy Medical Group as a physician in the Department of Family Medicine. This journey has involved me as the Department Chairman of Family Medicine and subsequently a member of the Quincy Medical Group Board of Directors for the last 12 years. The experience I have gained working with patients, staff, administration, and physician leaders has prepared me for my role as Interim Chief Medical Officer. I will aid in leading Quincy Medical Group and its physicians into the future of an ever-changing healthcare environment. By working directly with our physician team, the goal is to continue to lead the region in developing quality, cost-effective healthcare across all spectrums and for all patients. I am truly excited for what lies ahead for QMG and the region it serves.

As the Chief Operations Officer, I am responsible for the general oversight and operations of ancillary and support services including Imaging, Radiation Oncology, Behavioral Health, Wellness, Therapy Services, Laboratory, Infusion, Pharmacy, Outreach Services, Facilities & Grounds, IT, and Supply Chain. My role is to ensure that we are providing the most cost-effective, patient-centered services in environments conducive to physical and emotional healing. My team strives to see beyond the traditional ways of healthcare and find innovative alternatives to ease the burden on patients and their caretakers, as well as on our providers. Creating a collaborative environment leads to better outcomes. We are constantly making necessary thorough and dramatic changes to our care experience to surpass our patients expectations and meet the needs of our community.

As a Registered Nurse (RN) and health care leader I am so grateful to lead the clinical care delivery for Quincy Medical Group as the Chief Clinical Officer (CCO). My work focuses on revolutionizing our care experience ensuring it is as fully perfect, functional and effective as imaginable through guiding and engaging the groups care delivery teams, championing quality, fostering clinical effectiveness, integrating and aligning care across the system, serving as the primary clinical voice for clinical strategy and program development, and working to advance a culture of excellence to support Quincy Medical Groups Mission, Vision, and Core Values to effectively grow the organization and ensure financial strength and operating efficiencies.

As caring for those that care for others is my driving force forward, it is truly my pleasure to lead and support QMGs care delivery team members and clinicians throughout QMG. These teams include, but are not limited to: primary care services, medical specialty care services, surgical care specialty services, ambulatory surgical care services, medical oncology care services, cardiac services, and many valued support services teams.

Through the years, weve maintained a close connection to our patients that sets us apart. Some of our doctors have treated three generations of the same families. Over the years, weve embraced change and listened to our community. Today, with expanded hours and new ways to keep in touch, were easier than ever to work with.
