Dr. Cohen graduated from the UCLA School of Dentistry with honors, and continues to study the latest technologies. Dr. Cohen has received advanced courses of training in Oral Conscious Sedation, Prosthodontics, Pedodontics, Endodontics and Implant Dentistry.
Dr. Cohen DDS along with his periodontist and oral surgeon colleagues has been restoring dental implants in Mission Viejo California for over 30 years. Dental implants are the state of the art procedure for replacing missing, broken, decayed and infected teeth. A dental implant is also a way to provide a fixed solution to replace removable partial or complete dentures
Teeth implants are artificial roots (usually titanium) that are surgically placed into the upper or lower jaw bone by an implant dentist. The teeth attached to implants are very natural looking and often enhance or restore a patients smile.
Dental implants are very strong, stable, durable and will last many years. Dental implants do require regular maintenance and care and, on occasion, they will have to be re-tightened or replaced due to normal wear or other factors.
X-rays and impressions (molds) are taken of the jaw and the teeth to determine bone, gum tissues and spacing available for an implant. Sometimes, Dr. Cohen and his team will determine that a bone graft and possibly guided tissue regeneration will be required prior to implant placement. While the area is numb, the implant will be surgically placed into the bone and allowed to heal and integrate itself with the bone for up to six months. Depending on the type of implant, a second surgery may be required in order to place the abutment (post) that will hold the artificial tooth in place.

I had 2 implants done on my back 2 bottom teeth. I was extremely nervous going in for the procedure. Dr Cohen was so gentle and made me so comfortable that I fell asleep without anesthesia. I would definitely recommend Dr Cohen.

All I know is tooth pulled during a massive infection implant tried unable to do to nerve contact. Bone graft that was placed upon the bone for the tooth was pulled has now grown inside my jaw not where the tooth was. I now have to have surgery to have the extra bone scraped and have a new bone graft. Dr Cohen should not be doing implants in his office!

Dr. Cohen is amazing! He was the ONLY dentist to call me back on Sunday evening, he for him in the next day. Was patient, kind, and did a great job at extracting my tooth! (I heard NO ripping). His staff is great as well rubbing my arm and constantly Checking on me during the procedure. He called me and followed up the next 2 days! He will now become my dentist for yearly visits and anything else mouth/teeth/jaw related! Thank you Dr. Cohen and staff!
