Dr. Danel attended the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Dentistry to earn his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. During his last year in dental school, Dr. Danel held the highest academic standing in his class and applied to Orthodontic Residency upon which he accepted a position to earn his MSD, as well as his Certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, from the University of Colorado Denver.
Dr. Danel is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, and he is currently the only orthodontist in the Greater Grand Forks and East Grand Forks area to hold the prestigious honor of being board certified. Dr. Danel is dedicated to providing his patients with the highest quality orthodontic care available while creating beautiful, healthy smiles!
What is most important to him in life and his absolute favorite pastime of all is spending quality time with his family while sharing as many precious moments with his two young sons, Jakobi and Jaeger as well as his loving wife, Jana.

Our staff is skilled, trained and strives to provide energetic and fun-loving service to each patient. Each member of our treatment team is a registered assistant, and our office staff has years of experience treating patients with the highest level of care. I wish I'd had a say in what happens to my own mouth as a teenager. Then, maybe I could've avoided Dr. Nord's counter-effective "treatment" that left me unwilling to smile with my lips parted and unable to chew without difficulty for the rest of my life. Save your own family.. have some mercy on your kids, and pay attention when they spit logic like 'an expander is not going to fix a gap between teeth'. Twenty years later and counting, I still don't forgive my parents for not listening to me or the 3 years of painful metal brackets, permanently damaged bite or photo-phobic lack of self-confidence.

I was recommended to Danel Orthodontics by Face & Jaw surgery. As an adult my treatment was a complex lengthy journey leading to Jaw Surgery. Braces prepared my jaw alignment before and after my jaw surgery. From the beginning of my treatment and consultation I was always treated with dignity and respect by Dr Danel and all staff. I got braces as an adult through Danel Orthodontics and my wife and I were so impressed with the care they provided that we have brought each of our children there. Some of the kids have needed orthodontics for functional/health reasons like joint pain and some merely for esthetics but each time Dr Danel has proven his focus on the best possible outcome for the patient.

Dr. Danel and his whole staff have always been professional, especially organized and respectful of all patients time. I've had 4 children through his treatment and just finished my 18 mth treatment to treat a jaw problem that other orthodontists told me years ago only surgery would fix. Dr. Danel treats the function of your bite not just straightening your teeth. Highly recommend!

Ever since my first visit, Dr. Danel and his staff have been very professional, kind and courteous. They start by presenting a treatment plan, or various treatment plans to choose from, which have a surprising amount of flexibility to fit your needs and they never make you feel pressured. His team is very well trained and highly skilled. If I had any questions or concerns, Dr. Danel was always very gracious in answering them and put my mind at ease every time. It was a very pleasant experience for me and I am very pleased with the results and my smile. I would highly recommend Danel Orthodontics to anyone.

We had two family members treated by Dr Danel: our son who received Phase 1 expansion and my husband, who had first-time braces as an adult. Dr Danel is wonderful. The Phase 1 work that he does is transforming the lives of these kids. We have moved around a lot, including to some big cities, and haven't encountered another orthodontist who is making as much effort with Phase 1 treatments. His office is very professionally run and every single employee seems genuinely happy to be there. Their commitment to care is unmatched and we always felt like we were the most important patient in the building.
