Dr. Patel chose a career in dentsitry to help make a positive impact on the lives of others in our community. He enjoys educating and communicating with patients and goes above and beyond to ensure that his patients' visits are positive and enjoyable. He received his undergraduate degree from University of Maryland, Baltimore Country (UMBC) in 2008 and became a Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2013 at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Patel enjoys playing basketball, completeing home improvement projects, and spending time with his family. Dr Patel has strong ties to our community as he and his wife, Mishale, were both born and raised nearby in Germantown, Maryland.
For the past 30 years I have enjoyed the practice of dentistry and providing all my patients with the utmost care for their oral health needs. Over the years I have seen generations of families and it has been a privilege to be your dentist. Many of you have become our friends and your continued loyalty is the biggest compliment you have bestowed upon me.
Recently, I have realized that I needed to find a dentist that matches my dental philosophy to care for my patients. After a thorough and comprehensive search, I found a dentist that was seeking to acquire his own practice that shares my philosophy of dental treatment and patient care. A colleague connected us, and I have determined that he is an excellent match for my search, and my practice is an excellent match for his search.
He is Dr. Niraj Patel and he graduated from my dental alma mater, the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. With trusted and valued input from my wife, Mary Beth, I have determined that Dr. Patel is the right choice to care for our patients and take over ownership of the practice. I have asked him to introduce himself in this letter.

Nice interaction by nice staff. Must be loved as they stay booked for appointments for six months solid. Nicely Frank & forthcoming discussions; they value their time, & patients. Booked for February, now in October. DDS Dr. Patel has replaced DDS Dr.McKane.

They have great customer service! Far better then any other dentist I have been to. Along with that they get everything done at a very professional manor. I haven't had any pain when they are working on my teeth and the operations go very smoothly when I have gone in. Overall I am very satisfied with them and recommend this dentist to anyone who is looking for a great all around company!

Dr. Patel was great, as well as the entire team. They managed to get me in last minute despite not having an appointment and helped ease my tooth pain. I've been several times in the past and will continue to visit!

They dropped United Concordia Dental Insurance at the end of 2021. Oct 2022, now told they no longer accept their insurance. Never notified me. Paid out of pocket exorbitant fees. They continued billing United Concordia. Beware of all charges.

I have avoided dentists for years due to bad experiences years ago. I decided to give Dr. Patel a try and I am so glad I did! The staff (all staff) are pleasant and helpful from assisting with insurance down to ensuring your comfort and understanding of whatever procedure they are doing or going to do. They listen, they care... Glad I didn't wait any longer to get my teeth worked on and our paths crossed. 10 Stars!!!

I have been going to this practice for at least 10 years when it was owned by a different dentist and have had mostly positive experiences, but I feel especially lucky to have them lately under Dr. Patel's leadership. I returned for a visit after a couple of years away, which was unusual for me, but ... COVID... so enough said. This time, the hygienist was particularly friendly and helpful, appropriately talkative, and seemed to really know her stuff. The communication between the doctor and the staff seemed pleasant and respectful. After that visit at the end of 2021, I returned this week for three fillings. I am not particularly fond of this experience since I didn't have ANY until the age of 34 and am somewhat claustrophobic. The assistant, Andrew, made me feel comfortable immediately, was appropriate and kind, attentive to my needs, and knowledgable. Dr. Patel and Andrew worked swiftly and calmly, keeping me at ease the entire time. As a mom who is always taking care of other people, it actually felt GOOD to be at the dentist and be taken care of. I thanked Andrew many times for 'taking care of me' so well. I also finally replaced my night guard that I lost ten years ago and the technology they use to create them is top notch. I even received a personal follow up text from Andrew today to make sure I was doing well. Their systems are on point and easy to use and navigate and their staff have all been kind and easy to work with. I am impressed and grateful for a great dentist right in our backyard. Damascus Dental of Mt Airy is by far my favorite dentist. As someone who has had a ton of dental work, this place has exceeded my expectations. Michelle is my favorite hygienist and is such a joy to be around. 10/10 recommend every time.

Fabulous staff, both professional and so kind! Dr. Patel and his team went above and beyond to make sure I got the care I needed, all while taking extra safety precautions due to my current pregnancy. I truly felt cared for as a patient during all of my visits.
