I was born in Buffalo, New York and moved to DeLeon Springs, Florida in 1981. I attended DBCC and graduated from the Dental Assisting Program in 1988 and became a Certified Dental Assistant. Dr. Batten hired me after graduating in June of 1988. I have been here ever since.
On a personal level, I am married to my wonderful husband Chris. We have two awesome children, Nick and Noah. In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends, camping and boating.
While attending college I worked at a dental office in DeLand, Florida as a business associate. After 3 months working in the dental office I decided I wanted to be a Dental Assistant. More Hands On! That is when I furthered my education by attending the University of Florida. Where I received my certification for Expanded Functions Duties and Dental Radiology.
I am married to my husband Jason Harcus. We are both identical twins. We have two children, Averi and Andon. We have a small farm that we enjoy as a hobby. Jason and I spend most of our time with our children coaching their softball and baseball teams.

I am a Certified Dental Assistant with expanded functions. I graduated from Daytona State College in 2003. I really enjoy working with Dr. Batten. The differences we make in the lives of our patients is the reason we do what we do. Being able to make someone smile is the greatest reward.
I was born in Dallas, TX, but spent most of my childhood on a 72 acre farm in Lewisburg, TN just out of Nashville. As an adult I have lived in Oklahoma, New Jersey and this is my second time living in Florida where I plan to stay. I graduated from the Brevard Dental Hygiene Program in 1996.
I have had the pleasure of working in both general dentistry and several years in a specialty periodontal office. I find my work most rewarding when I can use my periodontal experience to help my patients get amazing results and maintain a long lasting smile.
Dental Hygiene was a great career choice for me since I genuinely care for my patients and treat each one as if they were my relative. I am always looking for ways to help my patients by paying close attention to every detail involved in their oral cavity, so that each and everyone gets the most thorough care. I have continued my studies to include becoming certified in the administration of local anesthesia at the University of Florida, to again better serve my patients and their comfort levels.
I am married with two little girls to keep me busy. I also have an interesting combination of pets. They include a German shorthair bird dog, a parrot and a cat. I am a down to earth southern girl who loves anything outdoors. I enjoy many hobbies such as oil painting, weaving cane to restore antique chair seats and Zumba.
I was born in DeLand, Florida and raised in DeBary, Florida. I started my dental career in 1999 in Mount Dora. I was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and have lived in central Florida since the age of five. After graduating high school I got my A.A. Degree in general studies. I took some time off from school to live in Minnesota and help my grandparents for six months. When I returned to Florida, I entered the Daytona State College Dental Hygiene Program and graduated in May 2015. My class was the second from the program to graduate with the local anesthetic license. I have been working full time as a Dental Hygienist since September 2015 and am excited to be joining Dr. Battens office this May. I appreciate taking continuing education classes so that I can better serve my patients. In addition, I enjoy sharing what I have learned with my patients as I get to know them.
