Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school. As oral and maxillofacial surgeons, our doctors manage a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions. Our doctors practice a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from dental implant surgery and wisdom tooth removal to corrective jaw surgery. This also includes techniques designed to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention and optimal patient comfort. We also diagnose and treat facial pain, facial injuries and fractures.
The surgical staff at Dakota Valley Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery are experienced, certified oral and maxillofacial surgical assistants, who assist in the administration of IV sedation and surgery. All staff are informed administrative personnel, well-versed in health and insurance policies, and are CPR certified.

As oral and maxillofacial surgeons, we treat a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions. Our surgeons practice a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise in corrective jaw surgery, wisdom tooth removal and oral pathology. They also diagnose and treat facial pain, facial injuries and perform a full range of dental implant procedures.
Our staff is trained in assisting our surgeons with IV sedation within our office setting. Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery. In addition, general anesthesia provided by a board-certified anesthesiologist is available within our facility.
Dr. Scott Rake graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 1995. He went on to complete his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Rake joined Dakota Valley Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1999. He has been an adjunctive clinical professor at the University of Minnesota division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery since 2000. Dr. Rake is involved in resident surgeon education in the areas of pediatric anesthesia and office-based surgical procedures. Dr. Rake provides full scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in all five office locations.
Dr. Rake is a board-certified member of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Minnesota Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, and the St. Paul District Dental Society.
Dr. Rake received her D.D.S. degree from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1997. She then completed an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Internship at the Minneapolis Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She is a graduate of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training program at the University of Minnesota.
In 2002, Dr. Rake joined Dakota Valley Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. She remains active in academics as an adjunct associate professor at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, division of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery.
Dr. Rake is a board-certified member of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, and the St. Paul District Dental Society. She is a member and past president of the Minnesota Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

This was my first tooth extraction and Ally and Dr. Jaberi did a great job. I was quite anxious about it, and Ally explained the procedure, making me less anxious. I didn't feel a thing.

My 3 kids have had their wisdom teeth removed at Dakota Valley Oral Surgery in Lakeville. We have been very pleased with the process. The staff is very knowledgeable and caring. Everything was explained thoroughly to my kids and I. Later in the day, after we were home a nurse called to check on my child and to ask if we had any questions. They are very good at what they do and give great care! I would highly recommend them!.

What a great experience I had at Dakota Valley Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Lakeville. The whole process of getting my tooth extracted was very smooth. I filled out the simple paperwork before the extraction which made it easy on the day I showed up. Dr Indovina explained everything that was going to happen that day and also what the procedure would be when I come back for my implant. I was in and out with no problems whatsoever.

I cannot possibly recommend this place enough. Its the kind of healthcare we all dream about, but sadly don't expect to find. My mouth has been a complete mess ever since recovering from heroin addiction. If you know anything about substance abuse, you'll understand what I mean. I had to learn to suppress my smile Nobody wants to have to do that. Now I'm unlearning that sad habit in preparation for having all my teeth again! Many people have contributed to my survival of addiction and a long recovery- but Dr. Rake stands out as someone who I am truly blessed to have met. Her team has worked with me financially and made it possible to get the kind of healthcare we all dream about. Please, if you need oral surgery/implants- give Dakota Valley a try! Easy peasy, I was able to get on the schedule real quick, got in and they yanked that broken tooth right out of there, and I was done. That was it. And I got to keep the tooth. These guys can pull a tooth like nobody's business!

Highly recommend Dr. Jaberi! I had two wisdom teeth extracted at different dental offices before this experience and this time was light years better! The staff here was knowledgeable, welcoming, efficient, and overall wonderful! I had lots of pre surgery questions and post surgery I called with questions. Love Dakota Valley staff and surgeons. I've had one dental implant done and have scheduled another surgery. They're very professional and listen to what you are trying to accomplish. I really like Dr Rake. The first implant he did was from 6 years ago and it's just solid, absolutely no problems with it. I couldn't imagine going to anyone else for my next surgery. I'd highly encourage anyone looking for a dental implant to check them out!

I had put off getting all four of my impacted wisdom teeth removed for 20 years. Finally when my dentist told me I had to get them taken out, I was a little reluctant. She referred me to Dakota valley and had nothing but great things to say. I had it in my head that it was going to be a horrible experience no matter what. I didn't want to be knocked out, I didn't want to come out of sedation and say weird things, my anxiety was through the roof. Dr. Rake was nothing but understanding of my fears and assured me that he does this a lot and I would come out on the other end unscathed. He was nothing but right! The whole experience was a breeze! I didn't even swell like a chipmunk! Everyone that I encountered from the front desk operator to the assistant technicians to the main doctor were nothing but amazing! Apparently I said it 1 million times in recovery! But it is very true!! If I could do it again, I would!! The best experience!
