Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school. As oral and maxillofacial surgeons, our doctors manage a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions. Our doctors practice a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from dental implant surgery and wisdom tooth removal to corrective jaw surgery. This also includes techniques designed to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention and optimal patient comfort. We also diagnose and treat facial pain, facial injuries and fractures.
The surgical staff at Dakota Valley Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery are experienced, certified oral and maxillofacial surgical assistants, who assist in the administration of IV sedation and surgery. All staff are informed administrative personnel, well-versed in health and insurance policies, and are CPR certified.
Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires up to 6 additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training. As oral and maxillofacial surgeons, we treat a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions. Our surgeons practice a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise in corrective jaw surgery, wisdom tooth removal and oral pathology. They also diagnose and treat facial pain, facial injuries and perform a full range of dental implant procedures.
Our staff is trained in assisting our surgeons with IV sedation within our office setting. Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery. In addition, general anesthesia provided by a board-certified anesthesiologist is available within our facility.
Dr. Scott Rake graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 1995. He went on to complete his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Rake joined Dakota Valley Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1999. He has been an adjunctive clinical professor at the University of Minnesota division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery since 2000. Dr. Rake is involved in resident surgeon education in the areas of pediatric anesthesia and office-based surgical procedures. Dr. Rake provides full scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in all five office locations.
Dr. Rake is a board-certified member of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Minnesota Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, and the St. Paul District Dental Society.
Dr. Rake received her D.D.S. degree from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1997. She then completed an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Internship at the Minneapolis Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She is a graduate of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training program at the University of Minnesota.
In 2002, Dr. Rake joined Dakota Valley Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. She remains active in academics as an adjunct associate professor at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, division of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery.
Dr. Rake is a board-certified member of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, and the St. Paul District Dental Society. She is a member and past president of the Minnesota Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

I recommend ! I went here on October 24 for a tooth extraction. I was in so much pain the front desk lady was so kind and professional. The place was clean and welcoming . They are patient and listen to you. My tooth pain was at 100 not 10. Soon as I went to the back the pain was gone , it didn't take long for the surgeon to remove my tooth. I was so relief!! I will never forget how these wonderful people save my life! Also thanks for the warm blanket and ice cream . Dr. Stacy and staff were fantastic! I had to have a molar pulled and was quite anxious about it. They were very calm and explained what was going to happen. The procedure was totally painless. I didn't even realize they were finished. I would go nowhere else.

Had my wisdom teeth removed here. It went so smoothly! I felt very comfortable and cared for, despite being a bit anxious for the procedure. It was very quick, a 25 minute procedure to remove all 3! Appreciated the little ice cream tub to take home. Thank you to my dental assistant and doctor for the top-notch care!

I would love to respond truthfully to any one of the three emails I have received asking for my rating but I have not heard back from the office after initial visit. Would like to learn insurance coverage and start planning implant process. I'm sure that once we work together every aspect will be steller. In the meantime maybe back off the rating requests.

3 star September 2022 It's too expensive and you have to give 20% up front at this actual location The woman receptionist in the check in area was trying too hard calm down lady she was kind of rushing me to fill out my paperwork I'm a new patient and it takes time when you have so much to to do Then she grabbed at my envelope with all my personal papers like it was for her and I had to tell her no I'll hand you what you need She was not professional at all Plus you could see through her dress at the bottom of it. Her voice was dry and crackled has she spoke But on the other hand The assistant and the dentist was Great coached me through the whole procedure I got to get free ice cream The place was nice and neat and clean that's why I give it 3stars

I got my wisdom teeth pulled here. My experience was lovely with the staff. I don't remember my nurses' names, but my doctor was Joby Jaberi. I'm so glad that my dentist referred me to come here. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming!!

The doctor was very professional and he did such a good job I didn't have any pain on two implants!! An ibuprofen after is all it took. This place is an amazing place to get you teeth fix at!!
