Dr. Friedman is originally from Saginaw, Michigan. She attended Michigan State University and received a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology. She then went on to attend The University of Michigan and earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2007. Dr. Friedman decided to join the United States Air Force while in dental school and was accepted to an Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia. During this one year residency, she was taught by highly trained specialists in all areas of dentistry. In 2008, Dr. Friedman was stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base. While at Ellsworth, she continued to focus on all areas of dentistry and helped the clinic achieve an excellent rating by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) as she was hand selected by the Dental Flight Commander to be observed while performing an IV sedation case and removing impacted wisdom teeth on a patient.
Dr. Friedman is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, and The Black Hills District Dental Society. She stays up-to-date on the latest changes in dentistry and has completed the Synergy Training Program for Implant Dentistry through Biomet 3i, has attended four Spear Seminars, is a member of the local Spear Study Club, and is currently completing the Kois Center Curriculum.
Dr. Friedman and her husband, Josh, fell in love with Rapid City, SD and decided to make it home. They enjoy taking their English Springer Spaniel, Lucy, out hiking and camping. She also enjoys biking, swimming, and baking. Dr. Friedman and her husband have three children, Logan, Lucas, and Levi.

Pleasant is not a word I ever thought I would find myself using to describe a dental experience, but here we are. All of the staff are so friendly and knowledgeable, from the receptionist to the hygienists to the doctor. The initial exam is very thorough and they take the time to explain everything that they are doing. They answered all of my questions and listened to all of my concerns and came up with a treatment plan that works with my insurance and my budget. Holly is one of the most delightful people you will ever meet. I was pretty anxious at first, having had a terrible experience at my former dentist, and she was so understanding of this. She was so kind and reassuring and throughout my procedure continuously checked in to make sure I was doing okay. As a new patient I could not be happier and would recommend this office to anyone.

Dr. Friedman is the consummate professional. She is a skilled, caring practitioner. Her staff mirrors those traits as well. It would be difficult to overstate what a high quality practice Dr. Friedman offers. Such kind and informative staff! From the initial setting up of the appointment to my actually sitting in the chair with them working in my mouth! They were gentle, let me know what they were doing so I could learn a bit and understand more, on top of it all there was no stress or anxiety about the situation. I would recommend Dakota Family Dental to anyone & everyone. The gal who cleaned my teeth even let me fill my water bottle with their UV filtered water haha Thank you again for being so amazing and helping me feel so comfortable!

Not a real fan of the Dentist office or dental work. I went in wanting sedation. I had a HORRIBLE experience the last crown I had. After visiting with staff and Dr. I decided to try without sedation. They took great care with numbing the injection area. Not going to say I didn't feel anything but it was so much better then the last one I received. I was told what they were doing through the whole process. With the equipment they have it went very well. I would encourage you to get dental treatment on a regular basis. That being said not all dentist are as kind and gentle as the team at Dakota Family Dental.

Excellent! Our hygienist, Holly, was fantastic, especially with my three year old. Everything was explained well and the exam and cleaning were very thorough. Also about half the price out of pocket than another dentist clinic in town.

I changed the appointment once - no problem. No wait - I was in the chair at the appointed time. Very thorough cleaning. Dentist did a very thorough exam. First Rapid City area dentist in years and years that actually cared and looked. Actually recommended fixes that were needed but no other dentist would recommend to be performed. Price was the same was anywhere else and the secretary was very good and careful about the insurance and billing.

My hygienist was great. Did a really thorough exam as I was a new client. Really explained what she was doing. However, the dentist, just made things WAY more confusing. Saying she needed to pull one of my teeth and focusing on on a tooth that wasn't even a problem for me. I've been to the dentist religiously since I was a small child, and this was the worst experience I've had with a dentist. I was really let down as I was excited to work with a female dentist. I won't be returning.
