In 2018, Dr. La wasawarded a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD). FAGD is distinguished award given to general dentists who display a lifelong dedication to continuing education, through completion of 500 hours of continuing education in various disciplines, and the passage of the vigorous AGD Fellowship exam. Dr. La is one of the only 7% of general dentists who have achieved this honor.
When she is not working, Dr. La enjoys being at home with her husband Chris and their three children, Ashley, Joseph, and Caleb. Most of her free time is spent doing what a normal mother-of-three-kids would do - keeping busy around the house, shuttling the kids to their activities, preparing meals for the family, and just having fun with the kids.
As a minister's wife, Dr. La is also involved in many church activities, where her passion for playing the piano comes in handy. She also has a big heart to share her talent by volunteering at local nonprofit dental clinics, and participating in mission trips. Dr. La hopes to build Dahlgren Dental into a practice that gives back and be a channel of blessing, both locally and globally.
Dr. Kye is from Canada and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology and Physiology from University of Toronto with High Distinction in 2012. Dr. Kye then moved to Boston, Massachusetts where she received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree with Magna Cum Laude from Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine in 2016. Throughout college and dental school, she was actively involved in various volunteering activities including dental awareness programs and providing free dental care at nonprofit organizations.
Providing top quality care and a comfortable dental experience to all of her patients is one of Dr. Kyes top priorities. With her highly trained skills in advanced restorative dentistry and compassionate personality, Dr. Kye ensures that each and every one of her patients feels relaxed and comfortable in the dental chair and gets the utmost care and a beautiful smile in the end. Dr. Kye also regularly attends continuing education courses to keep up to date with the latest technology.
Dr. Le was among 'the boat' people who escaped his country, Vietnam, to come to America.After three years of staying in a make-shift refugee camp, Pulau Galang, Indonesia, Dr. Le wassponsored by a convent in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to have an opportunity of a lifetime tocome to America.It was in one of the community dental clinics in Baton Rouge where the great professionof Dentistry first touched Dr. Le 's life. The gentle and compassionate dentists fromthecommunity clinic helped restore his teeth and educated him onmaintaining them. Dr. Le andDentistry later crossed paths once again on a career day, when a dentist was kind enough tospend her time in his high school, in Fairfax, VA, to talk about how awesome it is to be adentist. Perhaps that was the ah-ha moment for him. That day ignited the passion for dentistrywithin him. He has been pursuing dentistry ever since that day, and has never looked back. Hereceived his Bachelor of Science in Biology at the Virginia Commonwealth University. HeDoctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Howard University, Washington, DC, as his classTreasurer. He later completed his residency atHackensack Mountainside hospital, in NJ, wherehe was a chief resident. During the early stage of his career development, Dr. Le was very fortunate to have hisyounger brother and mother be among his first patients. His mother, after 20+ years ofseparation, was sponsored by Dr. Le to come to America. Coming from a third-world country,his mother also had many dental needs and also had a dental phobia. Treating his mothertaught him many critical and fundamental lessons about caring for his patients with a dentalphobia. He would love to continue to give the same kind of dental care to his patients. He has made it a lifelong goal to change the fearful public perception about Dentistry, one patient at atime. Dr. Le is a general dentist who enjoys performing ALL aspects of dentistry for patientsof all ages, and even one of his patients happens to be a centenarian. He currently focuses onEndodontics ( root canal therapies) and Oral surgeries ( extractions, gum surgery, implants,etc.). Dr. Le also loves seeing kids. He often calls them 'little angels who bring joy to hischallenging days. He is currently pursuing his Fellowships in the American Academy ofGeneral Dentistry and the International Congress of Implantology.Besides pursuing his passion in Dentistry through continuing education, Dr. Le enjoyspiano, yoga, working out, trips to the beaches with family and close friends, sightseeing inWashington, DC, and Billards. He is a team captain of a Billiards league in his current hometown Washington, DC.
Our patients are, by far, my favorite part of my work. I love getting to know them both through the office and in our community. They are part of my extended family and I, like Dr. La and our staff, really care about their happiness and well-being.
I manage all aspects of the office, to ensurewe maintain a professional and comfortable atmosphere for our patients and team members. We all work hard to ensure everything goes smoothly so patients have easy, stress-free visits and leave with smiles.
Im originally from Pennsylvania and have traveled the world with my husband of more than 30 years whilehe served in the Navy. We have two grown sons and two dogs. My husband and I enjoy traveling, camping, biking, and time with family and loved ones.
I love the many rewards of working in the dental field. Its such a great experience working at Dahlgren Dental connecting with patients and support their insurance and financial concerns. What attracted me to dentistry was the opportunity it allows me to help patients in a meaningful way.
I enjoy greeting our patients when they come to our office. Its great to get to know them and they feel like part of my extended family. Ours is a small practice in a close community: we become friends with our patients, their families, our neighbors, and everyone else!
In our spare time, Steven and I make our own wine. I especially enjoyed making our Breast Cancer Survivor wine, sinceI am a survivor. Our whole family contributes to this hobby and we have a lot of fun!
