I have had the privilege to serve in many aspects of dentistry. I have enjoyed working with Dr. Hughart since August of 2005. I relocated from Florida to accept a position as a dental assistant with Dr. Hughart before moving into my current position as an administrative assistant. I have 2 great sons, a dog, a cat and 2 beautiful granddaughters. We enjoy living in East Tennessee and now call it home. Most patients are apprehensive about root canal therapy, rest assured, we will do our best to make your treatment as easy as possible.

Brittany joined our practice as a chairside dental assistant in February 2013. She graduated with honors from the dental assisting program at Tennessee Technology Center of Knoxville in 2012. Brittany is very eager to learn and takes pride in giving quality care to all of our patients. Brittany married her high school sweetheart and they have two dogs. They recently had an addition to the family with the birth of their baby girl!

We are proud to be in network with several excellent insurance carriers. These include Assurant(Fortis), Aetna, Guardian, Metlife, and Blue Cross Blue Shield, Delta, Cigna, Humana, United Health Care and Dentemax. Our office is always open to expand our participation in quality insurance carriers. We strive to provide our patients with accurate information regarding insurance coverage for treatment, copayments and patient responsibility. We want our patients to take advantage of all the insurance benefits provided by their individual coverage.

We understand that in some instances insurance benefits may not provide enough funding for treatment. Necessary treatment should not be postponed based solely on finance issues. Recently we partnered with Retriever processing. This company not only provides efficient, secure credit card processing, it also offers a program for patients to manage their treatment cost with their own credit card. If there are insurance constraints or Care Credit or Personal Finance Company is not an option then we may be able assist the patient in other ways while still allowing them to maintain control of their finances.

I went to my dentist and he took X-rays and said I had a possible crack under my crown so he suggested I go to Dr Hughart to see what he thought. I went the same day and told him I had just been to the dentist and gotten X-rays. He insisted he do his own X-rays and then came in the room and said he thought I needed it pulled. He said there was nothing he could do for me. He never even looked at the tooth in question! And then billed me for an office visit and the X-rays. He spent maybe 5 minutes with me. The least he could have down was look at the tooth. And he only wanted additional X-rays so he could charge me for them. Very unprofessional.

I had some of the same experience as another reviewer down below name Gina. I was panicked and in a lot of pain. I needed a root canal and someone suggested I come to this doctor. I also like the other reviewer name Gina knew I was in trouble when the doctor came in. Cold and unfeeling made it worse for me. I have had a number of root canals and never this kind of pain before ever from a dentist. I told him I could feel it and he gave me another shot. I told him that was enough and he gave me more. I held on to that chair with dear life. I was shaking and wanted to die right then. I never had any dentist do to me what he did for a root canal. I don't remember with his type of procedure being done on me. It was so painful when I walked out, the lady at the front desk ask me if I was okay. I said no. When I got in the car the person driving ask me if I was okay and I said I want to die. I got home and popped 800 mg of pain relief and cried. I ask myself if it was my skin color, my gender, I didn't know what would cause a doctor to treat me that way. I don't want to give one star but you know you have to. It doesn't take a genius to know you should be compassionate and caring if you are a physician. Some patients are going to come to you a little nervous. You can't be there to let them know they are in good hands and will be okay? I guess not! Never again! If you are also a cold and unfeeling person, then come to this office. If you don't care, then come to this office.

I went to have an exam to see if a root canal was necessary after having broken a tooth. My arrival time was for 8:45 with an appointment time for 9:00. I of course sign in early fill out the paperwork and wait. The lobby was completely empty. So after setting and waiting until 9:40 and still waiting for a 5 min exam. I got up and left.

Dr. Hughart took the time to thoroughly answer all of my questions, and his staff were very calm and kind with helping me understand everything with the process.

I had a root canal done years ago by Dr Hughart. Let me start off by saying I have incredible anxiety. Especially when it comes to anything dental. This man is great. The atmosphere is relaxing (they play Fleetwood Mac -- it's pretty much fate). The procedure didn't hurt, and didn't feel good. It felt like nothing at all. Like I just laid there and then bam. Done. Anyone who is afraid of dental work, I highly recommend this oral surgeon! You won't regret it. I'm going back to him next week for another root canal. I actually can't even wait

Who would have thought a root canal would be such a great experience! Dr. Hughart was outstanding and the staff very nice and professional. Even got a follow up call the evening of my procedure to make sure I was okay. Thank you all!!

I did not have the same experience as the other reviewers. Dr Hughart was recommended from my dentist for a root canal. Leslie at the front desk is professional, efficient but lacks empathy. I spoke with Lyndsey on the phone twice and she was very compassionate. Dr Hughart is professional but comes across detached and indifferent. I had been waiting in pain for this appointment and needed assurance and guidance but instead I left confused and had many questions. I recalled with questions and I told Lyndsey my concerns and she was very understanding. I also told her I did not want to make the MD mad I just had a bad feeling. Instead of assurance or direction -Leslie the front desk lady called and they canceled the procedure and recommended I go elsewhere. As a healthcare professional myself I found this disappointing but maybe the best case for my personal situation. I found a new MD and was treated excellently. For these reasons I would not recommend this office.
