D.J. Edgerle, DDS is a full-service dental practice based in Grand Rapids, MI. Since 1993, our dentist and team have provided individuals and families from throughout the area with comprehensive cosmetic, restorative, and general dentistry services. From our beginning, we have been committed to providing patients with state-of-the-art treatments and personalized care. To ensure you and your family always receives the most modern care, we incorporate the latest dental technology into our practice.
Dr. Edgerle knew he wanted to be a dentist from age 5 when a local dentist, and life-long friend, came to kindergarten to discuss oral health (he also saw Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer one too many times). With career clarity and consistent goal setting, his corporate slogan Committed to Excellence is a philosophy that has guided every step of his professional journey.
Dr. Edgerles undergraduate work was completed at Central Michigan University, earning a BS in 1988. From there, he attended the University of Detroit-Mercy, graduating with a D.D.S. in 1991. He practiced Dentistry in the Detroit area, then in Maine for a couple of years. In 1993, he returned to the Grand Rapids area eventually purchasing his current practice.
His patients will be the first to tell you that thanks to Dr. Edgerles thorough oral exams he was the first to diagnose their pregnancy, heart disease and cancer, among other health issues. He is a leader in his field with technological advances, being among the first in the state to utilize laser dentistry and one of the first five practitioners in Michigan to be certified for the E4D crown milling machine, enabling patients to have a complete crown made in one visit. Dr. Edgerle is grateful every day for the opportunity to live up to the trust his patients place in him.

Very good! About the ONLY thing that'd get 5, would be our Creator! Was particularly efficient, and certainly thorough, including X-rays!

My family have been patients with Dr. Edgerle for a few years now. My son (6) can't help but laugh when he's there (the brush tickles his gums). My daughter (3) recently went for the first time and Dr. Edgerle had a great way to introduce her to what was going on. She was very cooperative thanks to how he made her feel comfortable and no surprises for what was coming next. Highly recommend.

I've moved around a lot, and Dr. Edgerle is one of the best dentists I've ever had! He is always interested in and using the latest technology (3d printed my crown!) and is quite skilled in his profession. He even does great with my 5 year old! And today in particular he had all the jokes! Been visiting him since 2019, and we won't be switching!

Had a set of X-rays taken with ease and full mouth cleaning that was done via a ultra sonic cleaner which was nice. Dr. Edgerle does a fantastic job! Pain free dental experience!

I am one of those people that does NOT like to go to the dentist. Along with that I have Trigeminal neuralgia, a pain condition dealing with nerves in my face. Finding a dentist who understands my concerns and condition was no small endeavor. The attention to detail at this office far exceeded my expectations. Every member of this caring team is exceptional in my opinion! They listen, care, and take top-notch care of my teeth. My entire family now sees Dr. Edgerle and his team.

Great service and care provided. This is a great place to go take care of your teeth. The ultra sonic cleaning is fast and effective. They explained exactly what they were doing and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. Would recommend!

After multiple visits now, I've been more than happy with Dr. Edgerle. He's calm, explains what he is doing, and asks great questions throughout the procedures. He also uses some newer techniques that my previous old-school dentists did not, leading to solving some concerns before they became problems. His staff has been great too!
