Dr. Polhemus received his undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University in 1984. He attended dental school at the University Of North Carolina School Of Dentistry in Chapel Hill, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1988. Dr. Polhemus opened his practice in 1988 providing comprehensive cosmetic, reconstructive and preventive family dental care.
Dr. Polhemus is an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Society, and Raleigh-Wake County Dental Society. He was on the board of directors that set up the Wake Smiles program, a clinic that provides dental care for the underprivileged.
Fran joined the practice in 2002. She is the proud mother of two grown children, Thomas and Bailey and a grandmother to two granddogs, Trigger and Cooper. She loves spending the weekends with her husband, Matt, at their place in Atlantic Beach.
Sara is currently in the Pre-Dental program at North Carolina State University with plans to attend dental school once she obtains her undergraduate degree. She has worked as an assistant in our practice since May 2017. In her free time, Sara enjoys traveling, working out, and landscape photography.
Heather joined the practice in 2004. Heather is married and is blessed with her son, Mateo. You will find pictures of him all over the office. When she is not chasing after Mateo, she enjoys crafting, cooking and reading.

I always expected a dentist just to breeze in and breeze out after the cleaning, barely looking at my teeth since that was my whole life experience BUT NO MORE! The bar has been raised by this office! I love everything about it, from the front desk, to the hygienist to both Dr. Bannon and Dr. Polhemus. Can a dentist visit be delightful? Yes.

I have been seeing Dr. Polhemus for 20 years now. Wow, that's hard to believe as I type it. I'm 46 and *hated* going to the dentist my entire life though I maintained regular 6 month appointments throughout. I can sincerely say that the fear abated within my first couple of visits to Dr. Polhemus. He has a fantastic chairside manner and a pleasant and friendly staff. I cannot recommend him highly enough. My 12-year old son has happily developed a positive view on dentist visits as a result.

Amazing staff! Very kind and patient!! I am a total baby and they treated me with nothing but kindness and warmth! Thank you for making my experience better! I've had bad experiences with prior dentists and I would recommend this dentist to anyone!!!

I have been going to this place for several years and love the people there. They remember me and know who I am and they are very friendly. One dental hygienist is super talkative just to warn you, but I enjoy it. It is nice to be greeted with friendly faces and help the time fly by. Dr. Polhemus is also very nice and easy going.

I have been going to Dr. Polhemus for about 10 years now and I can't say enough good things about him. I am not a big fan of going to the dentist, but Dr. Dave always makes you feel at ease and is caring and compassionate.
