First, the doctor examines the tooth and determines the appropriate treatment. It could be a simple filling, a full crown, or an onlay depending on how much healthy tooth structure is remaining. Next, we administer an anesthetic and prepare your tooth for the restoration, removing decayed and weakened tooth tissue. This preparation is just like we would do for many other restorative techniques.
Then, the doctor takes an Optical Impression (a camera scan) of the prepared tooth. Instead of filling a tray with impression 'goop' that you must bite into and hold in your mouth until it hardens, a camera is used to take a digital picture of your tooth. This whole Optical Impression process only takes a minute or two.

The roots of your natural teeth play a crucial role in maintaining the strength of your jawbone. After a tooth is lost, the bone tissue in your jaw begins to shrink, or atrophy. Left untreated, this issue can lead to further tooth loss and even affect the shape of your face. In fact, jawbone atrophy can actually make you look older than you are.
Titanium or ceramic implants effectively replacemissing tooth roots, preventing further bone atrophy, improving your jaw health, and keeping your facial features as youthful as possible. It's the closest thing to having your natural teeth back.
If you have been missing teeth for a while, you may be among themany dental patients that have lost the bone density needed for an implant-supported denture. With the All-On-4 method, Czaplicki Family Dentistry and their trusted oral surgeons overcomemany bone density issues and letpatients enjoy the beauty and security of dentures held in place by implants.
Dentists Don and Cathleen at Czaplicki Family Dentistry located in Hales Corners, WI, and serving the greater Milwaukee area, uses the latest technology and processes to streamline this advanced tooth replacement procedure.
An implant-supported restoration has three parts: the implant, the abutment, and the restoration. The implant itself is a small titanium or ceramic post that acts as an artificial tooth root. The post then provides exceptional support for acrown, bridge, ordenture. By replacing the entire structure of the tooth, an implant-supported restoration offers an unrivaled level of stability, comfort, and appearance.
Our patients appreciatebeing actively involved in designing their smiles and seeing how dentures affect their facial features. When you get full-mouth implant-supported dentures at Czaplicki Family Dentistry ingreater Milwaukee, WI, we can do a facial analysis that will show how you look wearing your new dentures beforetreatment even begins.
For most patients, replacing teeth with dental implants requires multiple visits to our Milwaukee-area office and can take several months to complete. Our dentists will carefully plan your treatment to provide the most successful results possible.
If you have dental health concerns, including insufficient bone tissue or periodontal disease, you may need to undergo preparatory procedures such as bone grafting before receiving implants. Depending on the treatment, it can take several months to heal before your implants can be placed.
During surgery, an oral surgeon will embed implant posts into the jawbone. The number of implants you need will depend on the size of the restoration you are receiving. The area will be numbed before treatment begins and sedation is available for patients who desire a deeper level of relaxation.
While it will take three to six months for your implants to completely integrate, the initial healing process is much shorter. You may experience swelling, bleeding, or discomfort for the first 48 hours or so after implant surgery.
We pride ourselves on our thorough craftsmanship, using modern planning tools and technology to get our veneers right the first time. We don't take short-cuts when it comes to the quality of our designs. In fact, we fit patients first with wax prototypes to perfect the symmetry and balance of their veneers. The end product doesn't just look pretty, but feels right.
AfterDr. Don Czaplicki and Dr. Cathleen Czaplickicomplete meticulous planning with digital tools, they use high-quality porcelain to craft our patients' veneers. Porcelain ceramic mimics the qualities of natural tooth enamel while the ultra-thin shells blend in seamlessly with your gum line and surrounding teeth.
Our dentists can use dental veneers to address a wide range of cosmetic concerns, from chips and cracksto gaps and minor misalignment. We can even use them to conceal deep discoloration that does not respond to teeth whitening.
Despite being incredibly thin, our porcelain veneers are extremely durable. When properly cared for, dental veneers can last a decade or longer. Furthermore, porcelain is stain-resistant, retaining its bright white shade for years to come.
Veneers are porcelain shells bonded to the front surface of one or more teeth. Despite being about the thickness of a contact lens, they are incredibly durable and look virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth. Our dentists take advantage of a highly accurate digital 3D scanner to perfect the design, implementation, and final appearance of your veneers.
Porcelain veneers are among the most populartreatments available in cosmetic dentistry todaybecause they conveniently address a wide range of issues. This is often a very appealing option for patients who don't necessarily need lengthy orthodontic treatment or a more extensive treatment such as dental crowns. Drs. Don and Cathy Czaplicki can place custom dental veneers injust two visits.
During the first visit, patients meet with the dentist to discuss whether veneers are the right way to achieve their cosmetic goals. Depending on your areas of concern, we can treat a single tooth, or several teeth to achieve more dramatic results.
The dentist prepares your tooth (or teeth) by removing a small amount of enamel. This makes space for the veneers to lay flush with surrounding teeth and look natural. We take detailed digital images of the mouth with ourintraoral camera to design your custom veneers. We will use this information to create a wax-up of your veneer that you can try on, allowing you to provide feedback to the dentist.
In a word: Yes! As with most cosmetic procedures, veneers are not typically covered by dental insurance, butCzaplicki Family Dentistry makes thistreatmentaffordable through financing plans and flexible payment arrangements.
Our Milwaukee office is equipped with the latest technology including3D digital imaging software, intra-oral cameras, and computerized diagnostic equipmentthat allows us to provideworld-class results. In other words, we make veneers worth your investment!
Refrain from chewing ice, opening packages with your teeth, and exposing the veneer to excess force. If a veneer does become loose or fall off, contact our office right away at(414) 427-9090 so we can provide a solutionas soon as possible.
Would you rather not permanently alter your tooth? Do you want to 'test the waters' with a reversible solution? Dental bonding is a tooth-colored composite resin applied to the surface of a tooth to cover minor damage and cosmetic flaws. While composite resin can produce great results, it will not reflect light as naturally as porcelain or last as long as a veneer. However, the procedure does not permanently alter the natural tooth structure and can be a great way to determine if you want to invest in veneers.
If your tooth has significant structural issues, a crown is a more appropriate alternative. Unlike veneers, dental crowns cap the entire surface of the tooth to support the remaining healthy structure and protect it from further damage. Thanks to our state-of-the-art CEREC technology, the dentist can repair tooth damage and place a custom-made crown in a single office visit.
Some patients find that veneers or any other single procedure cannot address all of their needs. If this is you, consider a comprehensive smile makeover. A smile makeover combines several cosmetic and restorative dentistry solutions into one streamlined procedure. Treatment is custom-designed to target all of your dental needs for dramatic enhancement.
