In 2005, utilizing the latest technology, Dr. Cusumano established this practice that is focused on clinical excellence. The office provides oral surgery patients a comfortable and relaxing environment that utilizes digital radiography to diagnose problematic teeth, wisdom teeth and jaw pathology; IV / General Anesthesia for total patient comfort; soft tissue treatment with the comfort of a diode laser, and a surgical suit for the placement of dental implants to replace missing teeth. Dr. Cusumano's objective for this practice is to provide first-quality dental care in a state-of-the-art environment with careful attention to detail and deep personal respect.
I graduated from Appalachian State with a degree in Exercise Science and am currently in the process of applying to physical therapy school. At COS, I'm the sterilization tech/second assistant, meaning I make sure everyone has clean instruments and provide an extra set of hands during surgeries. I enjoy the fast-paced environment and being able to put my multitasking and organizational skills to use while helping to ensure the practice is providing our best patient care possible. In my free time, I really enjoy collecting houseplants, tending to my garden (really any outdoor activity), watching sports, and playing with my nephews, Weston and Tucker. I especially can't wait for Appalachian football to make its return; go 'neers!
My name is Taryn and I'm a 31 year old Cary native! I have been an oral surgeon's assistant for the past 10 years, and have been working with Dr. Cusumano since 2014! This is not your typical oral surgeon... He is one of the few people I've come across in this industry that is actually more worried about me personally and they are my money. I came in and they did a 3D scan, it was my first appointment and he actually determined he didn't really need it until they actually pulled my teeth and even though I had already paid for it he told them to refund my money. He had absolutely no obligation to do that and I was honestly just astonished. It appears to me that his staff have the highest level of respect for him and they are all very caring and very knowledgeable in their respective fields. This is an amazing group of people who have truly changed my life and I absolutely couldn't have went through everything that I did, if I didnt have the support of the team at Dr. Cusumanos office. There aren't any words to describe my appreciation to Doctor Cusumano's amazing staff, take it from a girl who couldn't smile for years.... You really don't know what you got until it's gone!! I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to Ms. Devita, Ms. Kasey, and Dr. Cusumano especially!!!! P.S. I do not have a lot of money, Im actually using medicaid for most of my work that has been done .... They are looking out for everyone... Not just the people who can afford it!! You will not regret choosing Dr. Cusumano for your oral surgeon needs!!!!!!

I needed several extractions while completely under. Dr French seemed very uptight and jittery. I'm pretty sure he slipped and gave me a cut from the gum level all the way to under my tongue...as there was no reason for a cut there. I had my new denture inserted right after the extractions. Well the young ladies had no compassion. I was still very groggy and they whipped me into the wheelchair and took me right through the waiting room while I had blood running out of both sides of my mouth. And I nearly fell getting out of the chair and into the vehicle No one ever called to see how things were going and I experienced unnecessary pain due to the fact that I have Crohn's disease and cannot properly absorb some medications. So there was no understanding and no consideration that my pain management would need to be somewhat different than an average patient. You would think that since they had my Crohn's doctor send in a form saying I was healthy enough for surgery...they obviously didn't do any sort of research about Crohn's to see if any changes should be made for my unique Individual needs. Maybe because I was medicaId meant my experience didn't match up with all the other glowing reviews. It was a hellacious experience and quite frankly after many Crohn's surgeries this turned out to be just as traumatic.

We are so pleased with our experience with Cusumano! Our 12 year old daughter was very anxious about getting her teeth extracted and the whole process couldn't have gone better. These folks help you as if you are family. Patience and kindness most of all understanding of every thing you are going through I fully recommend Dr.Cusamano for all your dental needs.
