Being a dentist is my way of serving others. By finding solutions to meet the individuals short- and long-term dental health needs, I help them to lead a healthier, happier life. I truly cannot imagine a more personally or professionally rewarding career.
Before practicing dentistry, I attended the University of Missouri, Columbia, where I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. Next came Creighton University, where I was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). This was followed by my Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS), at the University of Missouri, Kansas City.
Since finishing dental school, I have actively sought out numerous post-doctoral continuing education courses. Dentistry is a constantly advancing field, with ongoing research leading to new methodologies, materials, and technologies.
We live in my hometown of Ottawa, with our dog and cat, and are currently renovating our house. As you might imagine, the process is a major investment of time and energy, but we love working together to make the house into our home!

As a new patient I expected to have to wait several months to get in, but I was able to get scheduled in less than a month. The staff were all very friendly, no waiting time, services were thorough and professional while still giving a friendly customer and patient experience, and the ambiance was positive and natural. I've found my new dental home and highly recommend Custom Dental!

Unprofessional and odd front end staff. I had to call my insurance company while sitting in the dental chair to verify coverage because they would not look at my insurance card nor call the insurance company while all the time insisting that I was not covered. The insurance company did verify that everything was covered in full at their dental office. They finally agreed with that. They said I was being difficult but who wants to pay for services already covered by insurance, which they themselves could have confirmed by simply looking at the card.

I cant not say enough GREAT things about this place! The staff were so UNDERSTANDING and very PATIENT not to mention EXTREMELY NICE. I have NEVER left a dental office feeling extremely confident that i got the BEST care. I HIGHLY recommend CUSTOM DENTAL OF OTTAWA FOR YOUR ALL YOUR DENTAL CARE!

I was very disapointed today i called to see if i could get my girlfriend in she has a tooth that has been hurting all weekend they said they was booked today and couldnt get her in until tomorrow she has been to see them before we had to call another dentist and they said they would get her in todaybecause of the tooth pain

Dr. Desch has went above and beyond to accommodate me. Very professional, affordable and welcoming. Love all the staff as well! During a procedure, Dr. Desch rapped an entire verse of Megan the stallion that was playing on the radio! And that's how I knew I was in the right place lol!

I can't say enough good about this office. Not only did I have a great experience here my kids have as well. Office is clean, friendly, welcoming, and both staff and dentist are amazing!!! We have found a new home for all of our dental needs.

I went there to get fillings after a long time. The process was fine but they totally messed my teeth up. Never in my life have I ever had any problem with my teeth after a filling. They expected me to go back and get them redone like, why can't you get them done right the first time and save me the pain? I probably won't go back.

Having extreme nerve pain in a tooth, however due to my employment, I can't afford the exams, dental work, nor insurance. During the call, I asked if there were any programs in the area that can help and the clerk was only interested in advising of their own office costs without even attempting to try to provide or assist with information on assistance or even some sort of program application for assistance to those who need dental help. Even after advising the clerk that I'm in extreme pain, she seemingly provided no empathy or care and frankly this is the type of dentistry office I would avoid if your poor. Well, I guess like they say, money talks and the poor walks. :(

This is the third dentist I have been to in the last two years and the first time I have been pleased with everyone I came in contact with. Everyone was friendly, knew what they were doing, and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't want.

I highly recommend Custom Dental. For the past couple of weeks I had this one tooth that was sore and I was trying to get ahold of my dentist to make an appointment and they never answered their phone or called me back. So I decided to find someone local who accepted my insurance. I called Custom Dental and they got me right in. Leanne sat down right in front of me and introduced herself and I was like ,I know you, we went to school together and we were in the same class. I told her my maiden name and she remembered me. It was great to see a classmate of mine doing great. Leanne and her team did a great job. They did everything that needed to be done and now I have no more pain. I will be seeing her again to get the rest of my teeth fixed. Thank u so much.

Let me just say I have horrible anxiety when it comes to the dentist. I knew when I walked in that I had found an awesome group of people! Everyone in that office was very professional and so kind!
