Dr. Gates is excited to serve his community in the DFW area and help you reach your optimal dental health. His emphasis on patient comfort is keeping up to date with the latest advancements in dentistry, which enables him to provide his patients with the best quality of care in the field.
Dr. Gates has a wide range of experience in different areas of dentistry from cosmetic and restorative dentistry to surgical and root canal treatments. Dr. Gates also places a strong focus on his post-doctoral education using it in conjunction with the most state of the art technologies. He has been involved in placing over three thousand dental implants and has advanced training in conscious sedation.
When he is not working, Dr. Gates enjoys traveling, exploring, time with family, and training his dog Duke. Duke just received his official status as a certified therapy dog and will be visiting local hospitals.
Dr. Nigel Kasali was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. After middle school, he and his family moved to Atlanta, GA where he attended high school and continued on to Valdosta State University to receive his Bachelors of Science in Chemistry. From there, he went on to receive his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas. He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and North Texas Dental Society.
That said, though, I wasnt really sure what I wanted to do for my career until I was part of the way through college. I knew I wanted to work in the healthcare field, because I saw it as a career path where I could tangibly help people. At the same time, I was also interested in one day running my own business. I liked the idea of working for myself and the autonomy that would provide. Many dentists have their own clinics, so I figured becoming a dentist would be a great way to help people through improving their health as well as run my own business. I started my own dental office at the end of 2019, but after the COVID-19 pandemic swept through the country, joining up with another dental office became a better option for doing the work I love while providing for my family. So, Im happy to be a part of the Custom Dental team and continue to meet new patients!
Outside of the office, Im a father of four children, including two 6-year-old twins, a toddler, and a baby whos just a few months old now. Between helping my wife take care of the kids, spending time with them, and working, it doesnt leave a lot of time for many other activities. However, I do get a chance to play hockey on the weekends with an adult hockey league, so thats pretty fun!

I love this office. I followed Dr. Kasali here and it was the best choice ever. Between him and Dr. Gates I receive the best service. EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN THIS OFFICE IS TRULY A SWEETHEART. they remember things we talked about months ago and follow up. I recommend everyone I can here.

Dr. Kasali was the absolute best when I came in on Monday, he kept me well informed about what all I needed to get done that day and was also really awesome at making sure that I was doing fine the whole time that I was there.

Dentist visits do not get any better than this! Everyone's super nice and professional - right from Dr. Kasali to the hygienist, Denise, to the nurses (Courtney and another young lady), and the patient coordinator, Dennis. They are all pros and work well together. The office is nice and clean, with water bottles, and they seem to have a lot of modern technology to make the process frictionless for patients from check-in to x-rays to treatment and billing. I have zero hesitation in recommending them!

I can't speak highly enough about Custom Dental in McKinney, TX. Last week I needed an emergency, last minute tooth canal. Even though I was a brand new patient, Dr. Kasali and his staff went above and beyond to make sure I was seen and treated same day. I have a lot of anxiety when it comes to medical procedures, but Dr. Kasali and his staff put me at ease and made me comfortable. Procedure was a snap and I was back out of pain the next day! I will continue to be a patient here. Thank you Custom Dental!

I woke up with awful pain in my tooth and wanted a dentist close to me. Custom Dental was able to fit me in immediately and took wonderful care of me! I needed quite a bit of work but they got it done in the one visit. It was painless and I am so thankful for the attentiveness and professionalism! I definitely recommend Custom Dental!

Exceptional customer service. From the phone call the night prior from Dr. Kasali, to the warm welcome to the office. Everyone we interacted with was fantastic. My children had to be referred out for further work, but they handled my children's tears and my concerns with such grace. I am thankful for their assistance in both caring for my family and helping us to find further pediatric specific care for them. Wonderful practice!
